So, my V-day sale grab bag arrived... And it was something utterly unexpected. A Dark Standard Issue with the type 2 groove pattern! Here it is next to its cousin, a DSI with the type 1 pattern in Blazing Red, being guarded by my favorite super hero, LarryBoy! (Who is also into purple!)  Sweet hilt for a grab bag! :-) |

Sweet hilt for a grab bag! :-) LOL they do look like cousins actually, different grooves picking up different characteristics from the same family. Have to say i prefer the cleaner look of the DSI Type 1. |

The grooves in the type 2 actually give it a very secure grip feel. Far better feel than I expected ... but I really miss having a choke point. :-)

Larry Boy is a "Veggietales" character, the super-hero identity of Larry the Cucumber. Larry also sings "Silly Songs with Larry" as the intermission of the various Veggietales videos. Such hits as "Oh Where Is My Hairbrush?", "The Water Buffalo Song", "I Love My Lips", and "Barbara Manatee". Interspersed with the Boys in the Sink doing "Belly button" and the Pirates who Don't Do Anything singing their theme song. :-)
And in the "Hairbrush" song, I do believe Larry is actually using a hairbrush as a microphone. (BTW, the hairbrush was borrowed by the Peach, because 'he's got hair'.)
