My wife has a friend who is into Star Wars and a HUGE Tennessee Volunteer fan. She's an alumn, so you have to forgive her. :-) Her husband is a major Trekkie, has TONS of Star Trek stuff, but they have very little Star Wars gear. So... When I saw the orange in the UE blade my wife and I both thought of her immediately. She has a birthday coming up as well. That cinched it. So the plan: I am going to paint the choke point white, then do the grooves orange. I am getting some Tennessee decals and I am going to put a big "T" on the back of the switch section, opposite the AV switch. So the hilt will have a big "T" on it with orange and white highlights on the hilt. It wouldn't hold up to dueling or a lot of use, but as a display piece it should really pop. :-) I'll post some pics of it when I am done, before it goes to its new home. I just hope the end result is a nice as what I am picturing in my head! LOL |

Thanks Taegin. For whatever reason I have a hard time hanging onto more than 4-5 hilts at a time. Despite the new Princess saber, which is tempting me GREATLY, I probably won't order another for some time. And it will be fun to make this one over for our friend. :-)

Agreed, I always get it stuck in my head that Orange blades look better with a black hilt, and then I see one like this and remember how truly versatile a color it is. Beautiful hilt there Drifter. |
