Not all masks hide darkness...

« on: September 03, 2013, 10:26:11 AM »

Hi,

I have just uploaded a video review of my new Dominix LE V3 Phantom sabre in Blazing Red.  I had to get a stunt sabre to stop annoying my neighbours!  I find the 32 inch blades help minimise damage to my TV antenna, which is at one end of my deck, and has lost some bits from impacts with my 36s.  Once I work out how to hang a camera out of my kitchen window I will try doing a video of it in action.  One of the joys of having a sheer cliff for a backyard.

This sabre has been back and forth between NZ and the US  a couple of times now, as when I first received it I was shocked to find the blades orange rather than red and sent them back.  I am sure veterans of the boards will hammer it into me that Blazing red is not a true red and has an orange core just as in the blade colour images.  My old Bellicose does have a completely red blade, and that was what I was expecting from these.  Ultrasabers were very patient with me, and switched the LEDs, although they still seem orange to me.  So anyway, I have put violet lee filters in, and that has toned down the orange a bit, though it has hurt the brightness (though nowhere nearly as bad as the dark red filter I tried first).  I notice that when wearing my mask the blade seems REALLY red, I am not sure what difference the blackout fabric is making, but I am sure there is some tricks with the light going on.
