Good Morning Everyone!
I am currently in the market to get either the Aeon or the Dominix V2. I was planning on doing some weathering (and eventually wrapping) to make it look like more realistic and Etc, etc. Now this would normally be an easy decision, Dominix would be better due to the fact that it is black. But the thing is, I am not a huge fan of the black hilt, nor 100% a fan of how they look weathered. I guess the real question here is has anyone done weathering to a Aeon hilt? I am talking blaster marks, burns, and scratches? Would any one be able to post a picture? or lead me to a thread where this has been discussed? I have looked but not able to find anything. I am kinda thinking I am gonna have to go with the Dominix, but I really don't want to have to sand all the paint off, I feel like that would be a waste. Anyways, any help is appreciated! As I mentioned, If this has already been discussed, just hook a brother up with a link! Thanks!

A lot of people have weathered up their lighter sabers (Initiates, Aeons, etc) with Aluminum Black dry brushed on (I sort of took a short cut with my old saber and used oil paint, it worked great but wasn't durable), there is also "olive oil weathering" that people have done, never done it myself but I hear it looks good. There *might* be a discussion on this but I don't really remember if there is a whole thread on it. Here is a link to someone that weathered their Manticore to have all sorts of cuts and scrapes, as far as I can tell it looks like they did a little of both types of weathering http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=11206.0 |

And that is what I was torn between, The Aeon (like you said), is bare with nothing on it so its an easy start to an awesome customization. Decisions, decisions... Anyways thanks for the help! I will definitely check out the Olive oil methods and dry brushing methods. |

I think a weathered Aeon would be pretty cool. I've seen it done with a certain type of paint before on silver hilts but I forget what type.
