Ok maybe there's some of us at aren't to sure about sizing *cough* (me) the 35 sched what exactly is that? I got a 1 1/4" PVC pipe and it's to small of a diameter... And it's 40 sched. Was that my problem?

Here you go my friend...

http://flexpvc.com/PVCPipeSize.shtml

In the United States, "Schedule" refers to the thickness of the pipe wall and, therefore, how much pressure it will hold. In most cases the schedule 40 compared to schedule 80 will contain roughly 25-35% less pressure and then there are bends and turn radius under pressure...but none of that matters for saber shrouds!

Haha, this brings me back to when I would make lightsaber hilts out of PVC. I must have made a dozen! Anyways, I was wondering if someone (such as myself) would be able to make a durable enough shroud that could withstand constant usage?
And get back to me on the metal tubing. That sounds a bit more.. reliable.Smiley

I made few old PVC hilts too back before I found US. Even the thin walled sched. 35 PVC is pretty durable, its just flexible enough to withstand a hard blow. Or many. I'm working with some metal right now. I can't wait to finish it and post it.

Make sure to tell what type of metal you used. I'd like to know. =] Weathered shroud for my Overlord would be awesome.

Where can you get schedule 35 in that size? I called a few plumbing supply stores without any luck, and I can't even find the damn stuff online.

I know Lowe's has it, Home Depot should also have it too, I actually got it out of my Dad's back yard, he only knows where he got it.

Its usually sold in... I think 10-12' lengths for around $5.  The store should be able to cut it up shorter for you.

It's all schedule 40 in the ones near me. Can you maybe post the labeling on the side of your pvc? it might be helpful.
Also, that box cutter looks familiar.  Cheesy What department are you in?

Tools and Hardware.  I'm in California, I wonder if this PVC is a regional only thing... but I'll post the item number as soon as I get a chance.
