:: Hangar ::

Her smile widened as Kardac gave her a little kiss on her cheek. She delighted in winning over men and he was so willing to oblige, at least in part. His behaviour earlier demonstrated he wasn’t some simple airhead to blindly fall for her but that made it all the more challenging and fun. When he wasn’t busily insulting her he was good company, though she had to admit she probably had that one coming. At his comment about his ship she looked around at it before eyeing off the control panel.

“She certainly is a nice little fighter. Controls are a little different to what I’m used to, the Shadow ain’t exactly set up for battle. Nothing too difficult though, I reckon I could get the gist of her pretty quick. I tend to prefer having a bit more durasteel and shielding around me however. I’ve seen how these babies can go up under a barrage of blasterfire.”

She looked wistfully at the controls, imagining what the ship would be like to fly. She regularly put her YT2400 through manoeuvers it was never designed to do and she found pushing it to its limits thrilling. Smalls fighters like this however could almost turn on the spot and the speed was exhilarating, and she had heard that the X wing was a good fighter.

:: Spc Tharu Tyy'n - Bothan ::
:: Qanotha Halls ::

Tyy'n seemed to wander aimlessly staring at the little medallion he had received from the laundry droid. The medallion had some sort of script Tyy'n could not recognise around it's edge, possibly a family motto. The design was that of some stylised avian swooping around the bottom edge of the coin, and a hole for a chain, thong, or choker to thread through existed through its top.

Without a clue where to start looking, Tyy'n had wandered through the halls in search of a terminal that he could enquire at, however without recognising the script, he had no way of pursuing the enquiry. The bothan had sat at the first terminal he had come across, staring at the search bar for five minutes before giving up, to search for either Captain Lunelle or Commander Shalth for identification. Lunelle's office was closer, and when he arrived, Tyy'n knocked at the door, and patiently waited for a reply.

:: Lieutenant Commander Kardac Shalth ::
:: Half human/Thyrsian, Ship XO, Lead fighter pilot ::
:: Qanotha Hangar Bay ::

~Kardac nodded as she gave her opinion of the fighter.  He had finished skimming and scrolling through her report and it seemed to all be in good order.  He would of course read it in more detail later and check the sensor data she had attached.  Tapping a few keys he then sent it onto Captain Hrental just as he had sent his own.~

"Aye well, that's being a pilot for ya.  Gives you a pretty good feel how to fly most things, once you know where the controls for certain functions are."

~He smiled a little at her comment about having more of a hull and shielding.~

"You get used to flying on the edge of space with your face practically in it.  As for shields, well I'm glad to have some as opposed to not having them at all.  Keeps me alive when otherwise I might not be.  Though it helps to be better than the other guy.  Usually shields are just a nice buffer to let you know somebody just dropped in your blind spot and tried to vape you.  Then it's time to dropkick and get in behind them and return the favor."

~He gave her a grin as he reached over the edge of his cockpit and stroked one of the kill markers that littered the nose of his fighter.~

"The other thing I don't think I'd ever want to give up would be the maneuverability of a fighter.  To be in the heart of your ship and push the envelope of skimming past another fighter, or a capitol ship and being this little thing that is so fast and so agile that nobody can touch you."

~Kardac smiled a little as he touched the flight yoke.~

"Yes, there's nothing quite like it...."

:Lunelle's Quarters:

Replying to the knock at the door, Lunelle looked up and replied simply "Enter."

Seeing the Bothan enter, Coren put the datapad down and made eye contact with the being. "Ah, Specialist Tyy'n." He said. "How goes the maintenance? Is there something I could help you with?"

The Captain, it seemed was in his office, and bid Tyy'n to enter. The Specialist saluted his superior as he entered.

"Captain: I was commissioned to laundry duty, and while I was in the Laundry Room, the droid gave me this--" Tyy'n produced the medallion he had been entrusted with, "--asking me to return it to its rightful owner, but I do not recognise the impression, nor can I read the inscription, so I do not know where to start my search. I was wondering if you could help me."

Tyy'n placed the medallion on the desk between himself and the Captain for his inspection.

The redhead smuggler chuckled at Kardac's swooning over his fighter. It did indeed sound like fun.

"I prefer the shock factor that my YT gives. They don't expect a transport to fight back or leave them scrambling to chase after it." Her emerald eyes twinkled. "Or at least try to chase after it."

Belyra leant in again and made a show of looking around the small cockpit. "The Wagtail also has the advantage of being a great deal more comfy on long trips. I have this wonderful thing called a bed. It's so soft and warm. And a refresher."

He rolled his eyes and gave her a nudge with his elbow. "I tend to avoid long trips in my fighter" he replied.

"I would too if I was you. That seat doesn't look anywhere near as nice as mine." She chuckled again at her teasing comments, her spirits up a great deal from when she entered the hangar.

"Well I will leave you to daydreaming in your ship." She leant further and gave him a kiss on the cheek, not unlike the peck he gave her earlier. "I have my own to fix still. Enjoy the report."

She climbed back down the ladder and headed for the exit, hips swaying in her usual strutting way. As she did she called back without turning.

"Don't forget those extra parts you promised Commander!"

:: Lt Kellam Styg, Human Pilot ::
::Hangar bay::

::Once inside the battered shuttle, Kellam began running diagnostics.  The readouts weren't good, nearly every system had suffered damage.  The shield generators had overheated and slagged themselves, requiring replacement.  Kellam groaned loudly.  This was gonna take forever to get this tub fixed. They were lucky the ship even got them back here at all.  He sat in the pilot's chair and stared at the console as he waited for the diagnostics to finish, watching the readout of problems grow seemingly without end.::

:: Captain Hrental, Yakora ::
:: Captain’s Office ::

The captain of the Qanotha had spent all morning reading through reports, both those submitted by his crew and those coming from Command. When Kardac’s had come in he read it carefully, and then was very pleasantly surprised when a second one came in from Kardac, this one written by the smuggler. How Shalth had managed to get that stubborn, cocky, untrustworthy woman to comply and write it out he didn’t know but it would help fill in some missing gaps, so long as she was telling the truth. The reports were painting a dim picture, and he had a feeling that the mission wasn’t over yet.

Hrental tapped his fingers together thoughtfully as he leant back in his seat. After a while he picked up his comm, calling both Shalth and Lunelle on their personal commlinks.

“Please come to my office as soon as you are able. I would like to be debriefed on the mission by you both personally.”

:: Lieutenant Commander Kardac Shalth ::
:: Half human/Thyrsian, Ship XO, Lead fighter pilot ::
:: Qanotha Hangar Bay ::

~Kardac smiled and she smooched his cheek and he nodded at her heading off back to her ship.  As she called out he rose out of the cockpit to look.~

"Aye, you'll get them."

~He watched her continue her strut for a moment, then seeing others were stopping what they were doing and gawking.~

"Ey!  Get back to work ya slack-jawed buffoons!"

~They all turned and saw their XO standing up in his X-wing cockpit, surveying all of them staring at the smuggler and then they scurried back to what they were doing.  He chuckled a little to himself and then sat back down, reading her report more in earnest so he would be familiar with its contents if the Captain wanted to talk to him about it.  After finishing reading the report he stayed in the cockpit for a couple more minutes, enjoying the solitude and touching controls fondly.  He then climbed out and started over towards the shuttle to assist like he said he would.  When he was almost to it his comm chimed and he pulled it out.  The Captain's voice came across it and he sighed quiet enough to not be heard by the device.~

"Aye sir, be there in a short bit."

~Kardac killed the comm and continued to the shuttle.  When he started up the ramp, he heard no noise, like he should if people were working.  As he reached the top and looked around, Specialist Hariko came up to him from the back of the shuttle.~

"Did Lieutenant Styg not take the diagnostics and damage report and relieve you?"

~The man shook his head and Kardac grumbled, holding out his hand and taking the pad with the damage and diagnostics on it.~

"You're relieved.  Go back to what you were working on before."

~He gave Kardac a short salute and headed back down the ramp.  Kardac then headed for the cockpit, seeing Styg sitting in the pilot seat and running a system diagnostics.  He threw the pad in the man's lap and cleared his throat in an annoyed manner.~

"Ya got wax in yer ears Lieutenant?  I said get that from Specialist Hariko and relieve him.  All this shavit yer doin now has already been done!  Now, get yer arse to work!  I gotta head to the Captain's office to talk to him about something, so I'll be back when I'm back.  I expect to see progress when I return."

~Without even waiting for a reply he turned to head out, nodding at Apprentice Floring on his way out, trotting down the ramp and making his way out of the hangar bay to head to the front of the ship.~

::Hentor Kulric::
::Barracks:

Hentor lay in his bed, his body feeling a lot better now. Of course, that'd probably change by tomorrow. Letting out a big sigh, he reached under his pillow and pulled out his father's pocketwatch. He examined the trinket in his hands as a memory flooded back to him.

"Well Son," his father said, "It's time I gave you the family pocket watch. I am going away for a while, and I need you to watch over your mother. If anything happens to me, you're the man of the house.

"Otay daddy," Hentor said looking up to his father. "I will be the bestest man of the house ever."

Hentor snapped from his memory with tears flowing down. "It's my fault, it's all my fault they're dead. I should have fought those stormtroopers. I should have done something." Wiping away the tears he put the watch back under his pillow and reached for his datapad. It was again, his parents. When he fled his burning village, it was the last thing he could grab. Since then, he sent a update to his family's home data consul, just to give him a sense of security. He'd always send it after a huge event, or on any of their birthdays. It made him feel better, even if he wasn't sure if the consul existed anymore or not.

He recalled in shock as his hand met nothing. His data pad wasn't there, and Hentor has no idea where it was. He tried retracing his steps, and thought it to be in the Mess Hall where he assumed he left it. He got out of bed, and put his shoes back on, and headed to the mess hall hoping his data pad was still there.

:Ground Captain Coren Lunelle:
:Lunelle's Cabin:

Taking the trinket, Lunelle looked over it very carefully. Shaking his head, he handed the coin back to the Bothan.

"Sorry.. I don't recognize the language." Hearing his comm chirp, he saw that he was requested to speak to Captain Hrenthal immediately. Standing up, Coren began to usher the Bothan out so that he could go to the debriefing. Once the two were in the hallway, Lunelle turned toward Tyy'n and pointed back in the direction of the laundry room.

"Go back and talk to the droids." He said. "See if there were any laundry bags with names on them. Cross check those names to when the item was found. Then, when you do that, you should be left with just a hand full of names to check. Good luck."

With that, Lunelle gave the Bothan a salute and briskly walked towards the meeting.

:: Spc Tyy'n - Bothan ::
:: Lunelle's Office - Exterior ::

Tyy'n committed the Captain's instructions to memory, then saluted him as he departed. Left alone outside Lunelle's quarters, Tyy'n contemplated the instructions; he hadn't been paying attention to the laundry bags he had handed out, they were generic for most of the crew. Maybe the officers had their laundry identified. It was worth a try.

The bothan made his way back through the halls towards the laundry room. Tyy'n found the desk of the laundry room vacant. In the gloom beyond, he could hear the treads and gears of droids working within the darkness. The peel of a bell on the counter seemed to be sucked into the void of the space beyond, and all of a sudden, the laundry room devolved before Tyy'n into an abyss of open Wild Space: the wiring of gears, the pinpoints of light. Panic rose in Tyy'n's chest, and he had to remove himself to the hallway; Tyy'n leaned against the wall next to the door, staring at the ceiling, trying to regain control of his breathing.

::Mess Hall::

Hentor entered the Mess Hall and scanned the room for his data pad. Bingo. Right where he left it, luckily no one took it. He grabbed it and turned it back on, turning to the message application. The only contact he had was his family's terminal. Choosing that, he sat down as he he typed his report to his parents, even if it was futile. Once he sent it, he decided to go to the captain, and ask to join the rebellion.

:: Captain Hrental, Yakora ::
:: Captain’s Office ::

Hrental heard a knock at his door. Without looking up from the report he was reading he said “enter.”

Captain Lunelle entered, giving a quick salute which Hrental returned. Just as his door was about to close Lieutenant Commander Shalth slipped through, also saluting.

“Ah, gentlemen. You both have excellent timing. Thank you for coming so quickly. Please, sit.”

As the two men sat in front of him Hrental scratched behind one ear then smoothed the hairs on his head back.

“As I said before, I have called you here to discuss the mission. I have read briefly through the reports, my congratulations to you Shalth for getting Ms Vekraa to cooperate. I didn’t think it possible.” He gave the man a nod in recognition before continuing. “In light of some information I have received from Command, I would like to hear directly from you about what happened on Alvor. Start from when you entered the system, I know what happened before that.”

He motioned to Shalth to begin, given that he was the superior of the two officers.

:: Lieutenant Commander Kardac Shalth ::
:: Half human/Thyrsian, Ship XO, Lead fighter pilot ::
:: Captain’s Office ::

~Kardac nodded and smiled at the Captain's compliment.~

"It was a matter of using a little leverage and bargaining to get her to comply.  I have not yet looked at the sensor data that was attached, but I imagine it may provide something useful."

~When asked to lay out the situation of the mission, Kardac pondered a bit before speaking up.  He covered some details as he went, though sticking mainly to the big points.~

"Well, as you know we had a sickness snafu and had to return for a bit.  After we returned, there was already trouble in the system.  The massacre on Touk put the whole system on high alert.  We were forced to play out our Black Sun cover and try and "assist" the TIEs attacking the smuggler ship.  They did not respond so we didn't go to "help.  Before the first had finished being destroyed we saw another wave heading for our cohorts.  Using a coded burst transmission we ordered them to escape ASAP.  After that we tried to land on Radvam, but they wanted to warn us away unless we had business or an emergency.  We had to make an emergency and sabotage the shuttle.  Upon landing we were required to evac the shuttle and be confined to their mess hall.  We were confined there for most of a day and had been through a couple guard changes."

~He took a moment to get a drink of water before continuing, still filling in some smaller details, but keeping mainly to the more important parts.~

"Finally we decided to make our move and began to try various ways to get them to let us out of the Mess hall.  Need to use the head, stretch the legs, get some fresh air, check our shuttle, etc.  Using the various methods we were able to get away from the mess hall and our watchers and retrieve our gear from the shuttle.  From there we split up to different objectives.  Styg and I went to do damage to the TIE bay.  Lunelle and Deidre went after the main objective to find the scientist.  Acklay and Krist went to take care of the comm tower.  Vonner and Mercanti went to neutralize the off duty station personnel.  Using short transmission bursts we were able to coordinate the execution of the objectives within a minute or two of each other.  This of course caused an uproar in the base, but they were fairly disorganized after the blasts and that kept us from encountering too much trouble initially."

~Kardac paused and took a sip of the water.~

"Unfortunately Vonner and Mercanti didn't get all the personnel because of how many and how spread out they were.  It got pretty ugly after not too much longer.  Bit by bit the Imp started to get their organization back, even with major areas disabled or destroyed.  During the chaos we ran into Joash, who convinced us he was working as a sleeper for us.  With his help we scuttled our shuttle since it wasn't fixed yet.  We lost Vonner during our push to get to our shuttle, and we lost Krist when we were trying to make our way to a new escape vehicle.  At that point the scientist decided he no longer wanted to try and escape with us and would rather try and go back to the Imps and live, so I was forced to put a bolt in his head.  Deidre volunteered at that point to stay back and hold off the Imps while we tried to escape.  We didn't actually see her die, but there was an explosion in her vicinity, likely one she created to slow the troops down.  She could have survived and be blending in and waiting for a chance to escape for all we know, but it's hard to say.  From there we blasted off in a hurry and nearly got shot down when TIEs from another station caught us.  Thankfully Captain Vekraa showed back up during our escape and helped cover us on our way out of the system.  Apparently she had jumped in some time before and had been hiding, waiting to see what was going down.  When things started exploding on the station, it told her that we apparently were still alive and kicking and were causing hell for the Imps.  After that we jumped back to the backup coordinates that I knew of, hoping you'd still be here."

~He rubbed his chin for a moment.~

"Pretty sure that's about the sum of it sir."

~Taking another drink of the water, he took a seat, not realizing he'd been standing during that dictation.~
