Why is my Violet Amethyst turning Red? Why doesn't my RGB mix colors anymore?

Not sure if this has been mentioned as an option, but sabers with the Emerald driver and RGB LED can change the color to whatever, so changing the HUE and saturation of the color darker would be an option.

Just my 2 cents worth of advice.

Or maybe we can attach some propellers to the hilt that turns a generator attached to the LED so the saber will light up when you swing it and won't need batteries!!

I just ordered a new saber and took a chance on the Violet Amethyst.  Ive always gone with Tri-Cree solid colors in my previous Ultra-sabers but really like the look of that Amethyst color.  I hope with the regular battery setup that Im not disappointed with how well it holds the color.  I use eneloop rechargeables whch are pretty good batteries.  Im probably worrying for nothing but just hope it stays purple looking for the most part!

I was told my sentinel yellow looks orange because of battery issues as well though I do notice one of the emitter windows show it is legit off balance with too much red vs green. After research I found something called NiZn (Nickle zinc) newer technology rechargeable batteries which gives 1.6v (1.5 v under load) which is what alkaline batteries are supposed to give off the shelf though that seldom occurs after it is under load. These batteries are designed for fast draining devices such as rc cars and flashlights (so lightsabers). Their capacity is a bit smaller so I imagine it doesn't last as long. I also have regular rechargeable batteries that has a selling point of larger capacity (1150mah as opposed to regular 800 to 900). Will report in if these options makes any difference. I'm thinking the higher voltage will be accurate in colour but the higher capacity would be good for like a con or event as back up.

What do you mean by “regular” rechargeable batteries? 

Anything above 800 or so mAh is highly suspect; unless you have experience with these exact cells, I would be reluctant to trust their claims of safety, since the mAh rating is (likely) bogus.  Are these cells protected cells?  If not, I would not use them at all (but some people have no such reservations, and still have all their fingers, and both eyes).

In this case regular rechargeables would be nickel metal hydride or similar.  These nickel zinc cells are replacements for common AA or AAA cells, NOT for Li-ion cells. They are 1.6 volts not 3.7. These are only usable in stunt or Obsidian Lite setups. They do not have the output potential of Lithium but the do have extended life versus other AA and AAA rechargeable batteries.

I've tried new batteries a few times, but it stays the same.  The first couple of inches of the blade (closest to the hilt) are violet, the rest is blue.  I've finally got a decent camera, so I'll try to get a good pic and post it later.  In a way, it's kind of a neat effect, I just wonder why it's doing it.
