Acrylic Tubes, aha! Much better. I was searching for PVC pipes and all I could find where the flexible hose type tubes, wasn't sure that would work so well.

Acrylic is not nearly as strong, and shatters when it breaks. If you need to cut it, make sure you have a safe way to cut without pieces etc. flying off.

Most typical tablesaw blades are perfectly fine for acrylic as long as you go slowly, if you're like most and don't have a tablesaw then any fine-toothed hand saw will be good too. Shoving acrylic through a table saw or using broad-toothed hand saw is a sure way to chip or crack it.

Go to Lowe's for a 1.79$ per foot vinyl tubing. HomeDepot was selling it in 20 foot rolls, but Lowe's would cut it by the foot as requested. I think it was labeled 3/4 inch by the inside diameter. It holds the LED housing in place.

Just a simple mod, but I think it looks cool!
Unfortunately Photobucket is playing up at the moment, but these links work!
I just drilled a hole into the middle of a Circle blade plug, then hot glued a grease nipple into the hole. The last 4 photos are of it inserted into my Graflex.

Just finished my plug.  My concept....It's an external crystal chamber for an ancient Sith lightsaber.

^ WOW  Shocked  The crystal really "shines" in that custom blade plug  Wink

Great job! The copper accents are a nice touch as well. I've always been fond of copper on a saber. +1

Hi.  This is one of the best blade plugs that I have seen.  Great job and I also really like your creative customization to the rest of the saber.  The plug really takes this saber to another level.  Well deserved point for you.  Cool  Cheesy

Graflex plug.

1/4" brass tubing, scored rings into it and cut tiny stub of it for the base.  Then cut and inserted a piece of copper rod, capped with knurled brass acorn nut.

A more simple but well thought out plug customization that adds a touch of class.   The different metals and texture/design make it visually interesting.   Looks great with your Graflex and compliments/highlights the gold tones in this saber.   point   Cool

My Photobucket is working again (finally!), so here's my attempt!
Drilled a hole into the middle of a Circle Blade plug, then hot glued a 6mm Grease Nipple into it - simple, but looks cool, I think!

Thanks D7:)!

Looks awesome Seano! Our plugs are really similar actually lol, you can tell we both got the same type of basic idea about the 'flex plug.  I like the way the base of yours looks especially, it's a really nice fit with the plug.  Point coming soon as I can Smiley

A little Necroposting here but when I used the search function, this seemed like the most apt place to put this:

Yes yes I know it would look better if the light passed through the crystal but haven't drilled it yet...
