The new couplers seem to be really solid from what little bit I was able to use the staff today. Pretty easy to adjust for the most part. I tightened it with minimum force and it holds well, I think the small notches help to keep it from loosening or slipping.
I have the low profile pommels for both.
I got to play with it some tonight and although it is slightly heavier, it has good feel to it. I will have to swap out or shorten the blades up a bit. With the 36" blades it it much taller than me and my other two phantom staffs.

Nice, I keep a low profile pommel on mine as well. |
