My my my...it does continue to create the need to wash one's short yes?
It was definitely very well executed.
Just a minute of footage, but they used it to great effect.
The establishing shot at the beginning was just gorgeous, and it really helped to set the tone (as it should).
Nobody wasted their time with talking; just short sentences, and an exchange of eye-contact between Blink and Iceman near the end. You can really tell just by this and the efficient ways in which everyone moved that they
really knew what they were doing, and that the war had been going on for some time already. And also that this wasn't their first time working together as a unit.
Then there was the tense and somewhat creepy music which also helped to underscore the dire situation.
And the Sentinels clawing their way through the ceiling like some kind of horror-movie cliche.
And how you immediately knew right off the bat what everyone's powers were. They did this really well as well (lol). I already had a faint idea of what these new mutants were capable of, but this really made me go "ah, okay. NICE."
Then finally there were the little things, such as the sound Colossus's armor made when he activated it, and Iceman's supremely badass entrance that reminded me why he is one of my favorites (they both are actually... among others).
Also, the scrolling transition from floor-to-floor when Blink and Warpath (such awesome names) entered the portal, which was really smooth and nice.
Nothing in this single minute was wasted.
And therefore I applaud it and say: BRING ON THE REST OF THE MOVIE. You have finally convinced me that this is going to be awesome.
Although I do have a feeling that the movie will become a heck of a lot less interesting once it gets to the scenes taking place in the past, just like how Man of Steel became a lot less interesting after the Krypton portion of the movie.
I really hope this isn't the case.
