Right so i'm hoping to buy an emerald catalyst, but i don't know if i really want sound, am i able to add sound later on?Huh is it easy. (i do have a good understanding in computers as i'm training to be an IT Technician.)

I'm not experienced in electronics, but there are various people who are here, so I'm sure they'll get involved and tell you its rather simple. I know Master Bluespike does 'Electrical stuff', along with others...

But you can send your saber back in for upgrades, email US for more info on that.

Yes, it is possible. Either by buying the parts needed (soundboard, maybe a Li-Ion battery pack/speaker combo) and DIY, or by sending the saber back to US and having it upgraded by them.
You can find various wiring diagrams here on the forum for DIY as well as some members who did that before, like Acolyte already said.
