holocron font??

I'm going to be starting a holocron buil in the near furure. And I was wondering if any one has concittered doing a font like this
My ideas on this are as folows
Chashes 9-12 quotes from jedi/ sith masters
Lockup sound may not be nesscary but could be used to flash inturnal leds.
The hum- background music light side/ dark side theamd
Sence this whole thing will be obsidian powered I'll be using it as an led driver also. Running 4-5 5mm leds.
Thaughts, concerns and your ideas on this are welcome.

This would a brilliant first! Maybe we could just record them ourselves... I'm set up to get that done and would gladly voice act for this!

I like your enthusiasm EErock. I'd be happy to see what you comeup with. The first one i'd do is the jedi holocron. I've got an idea how i'd get the electronics to work, I'm in the designe stages now and shoutd be testing in the next week. I even had the clever idea to run 4-6 leds on the main like and 1-3 on the foc line so when its triggered there would be a central pulsing. So now I'm thinking that the clash sound could be like a hologram starting up.
But if your really interested get with some of the other forum font makers and see if they could lend there voice talents.

I was thinking a swing could start the hologram, and the clash could trigger a quote. Easier to activate that way. To get a quote, just pick it up, and then put it down to activate a clash and a quote.

Sure. Let's organize some volunteers. We can put some sayings in there. Since holocrons held specific information, we could make subfolders for each character and have a bunch of quotes for each. That way, we can have many Jedi characters to add using the same start up fonts and pulse.

Ok so we would have one or two swing sounds and mutipal clashes the swing being like an actavation and the clash a quote.
As for the hum again I was thinking just something simple like ambiant music that could be easly looped.
Once I can get the rest of the materials I need I can start building
I'll be using a baseball display cube as the foundation of the holocron cube. After I build the proto type. There's no limit to what can be done.

But yes some volentiers would help especially with the different charecters.
Also I like the idea of having seprate files for each charecter.
Not only would this be cool in a cube container but also in a lightsaber. Imagine in a saber it would have ways to teach each form. Now that would be cool.

I think the idea is to have 12 or so quotes each from various Jedi. All we would need is for you to get in character and record 12 or less quotable lines. They don't have to be from the movie either. Wookieepedia is also a great place to source info and ideas.

I need to find a mini-firewire cable asap... I have more than just this to record...

The More people we have on this project the better but there's no rush to get this done ihavent gotten all the parts to construct the actual holocron yet. I have the cube and I've made sure everything fits I still need to set-up the actual wiring for the electronics. I haven't even drawn it out yet...
I'll begin the actual build soon. Although there's no reason that we couldn't use this idea on a saber .

Ive stumbled on to this thread and I am so hoping that you finished this project. This is a great idea. If its finished I hope there is a video posted. Im just jealous I didn't think of it.

damn, i was hoping you were gonna hold off on show this idea off ... i have some ideas on possible "playback micro projectors" to be fitted into that cube and have it play a short"kinda like a vine, or just a 10 sec message"  so it would project it onto the wall ... as if it were a holocommunication
