The Initiate and Dark Initiate are shortened versions of the Aeon and Dominix essentially.  While most hilts are around a foot long, the Initiate hilts are like 8.75 inches long - good for single handed use but a shorter than average saber.  They come with 24" blades by default, although you can pay a little extra to get a longer (32" or 36") blade if you like.  Go with whichever suits you!

The Initiate size is also great for kids! They love them more than the cheapo ones from Wal-mart, and they last longer too! There are some pics and vids on the forums of kids playing with theirs..... ahh it does my heart good to see young ones brought up so well!
