I was thinking about buying the li - ion 3.7 rechargeable batteries and was wondering if I do would I damage anything in my saber?  My saber is blazing red and has 4 aaa's batteries in it now so if I put 4 of the 3.7s I was wondering if I would damage anything.  Or should I get the rechargeable batteries with charger and the dummie battery's also and just run 2 and not the full 4 that my battery pack holds?  I also plan on swapping out led's and installing quick disconnects so I will probably buy enuff batteries to fill up the pack.  Thanks and any help is appreciated

If you are planning on redoing all the electronics anyway, I would go with a single 18650 Li-Ion battery.  It is substantially bigger than the regular 14500's, but I have heard they last a lot longer between charges.  US doesn't offer them though, you would have to get them elsewhere.

The regular Li-Ions are the same size as AA, not AAA, so you would need a two AA battery holder.
Four 3.7 V batteries would be way too much voltage.  I think one would actually be sufficient.  I have a stunt saber that I upgraded with a single Li-Ion battery and it is plenty bright.

I mainly mentioned the 18650 battery because I'm not sure a AA battery holder would if in a V2.  It might, but I don't know for sure.

I just want a rechargeable battery that will last longer than the 4 AAA'S my saber came equipped with.  What voltage should I look for this saber I am new to trying to customize one also but I do know how to do the work.  I extend and re wire cars from time to time

It won't fit. It's too wide with the batteries in. I've tried. Huh

What about using an inline pack with 2 14500 cells.
You would need to change the resistor though and find a way to keep the pack from banging around

Yeah I think I am going to go with an 18650 a 2.1 mm recharge port and a charger for it so I don't have to remove the battery to recharge it.  And I figure I should get around 4 to 5 hours out of battery life so that's not bad

You can get 10440 lithium ion batteries that are AAA size. They are double the voltage of the AAA so you have to make sure they are in right to get the right voltage out of them. If you put in four 3.7 volt batteries connecting them in parallel keeps it at 3.7. Connecting 2 parallel pairs in series will give you 7.4 volts.

Can you get me a diagram to do both of these setups?  The more info I have the better and I will look up the batteries.  But with a standard set up with resistor would 7.4 volts be to much or is it regulated by the resistor?

You can resistor 7.4 down to 3.7 but that would be a waste. If you want 3.7 just put them in parallel and you'll extend the run time.

Oh yeah I can get the diagrams but its late here. I'll find them in the morning.
