So i am pretty sure my mind is set on getting an initiate v2 staff but i cant decide something. My problem is that i dont know which anodizing finish i want (black or silver). In your opinion which is better?

Depends.  I tend to like to match the hilt with the color of the blade, which color are you getting?  Also, are you looking to go with a more dark side or light side saber?  This matters in your choice.

i have a Dark Initiate v2 in SRD and i find the contrast to be quite nice.

Well im going to get it in consular green and i lean towards the light side by a hair

You can't go wrong with green!  Bright and beautiful color.  It matches more or less anything - I personally like the silver for light side, it looks great with the CG but I'm sure the dark would look awesome too.
