The following movie ideas are just ones I've had saved on my hotmail drafts as bullet points so apologies for any laconic descriptions. If you have questions or feedback please let me know
- rom-com which expresses the idea that multiple times you'll think you've found 'the one' each better than the last etc, but in fact it takes lots of relationships and lots of mistakes to finally find the right one. The protagonist might even end up alone and never stay in long term relationship but the message of the film is basically just enjoy things while they last.
- young student has to decide between his relationship and going to university. We see both scenarios and eventually his life ends up the same. Flirts with the idea of fate. Ends up splitting up with his girlfriend either way and meets the same woman whom he ends up marrying and having kids with. Ends up with same job regardless as he either studies photography at uni or does freelance photography etc, gets the same big break with the same company.
- Jury innocent or guilty? Never find out? Maybe they decide he's innocent then he gets set free and kills again, and we see how the jury members cope with the guilt, having therapy or suicide etc. Maybe he's innocent and gets proved guilty so escapes from prison and changes identity to move abroad and live as a free man. Audience completely torn as to whether good or bad. Maybe he claims he's been framed by someone else or maybe he pleads as insane? Guilty but made to do it for money or to keep himself or his family alive. Manslaughter maybe?
- follows a stand-up or photographer or writer on their long, struggling journey to success. have a love story, a financial struggle, depression etc. Constant failure every time. Rocky-esque
- homeless man uses one red paperclip method, sick of living on streets etc so uses Kyle MacDonald's trading technique, see life before when he has wife and house and job and car. Eventually gets the house from swapping but the twist is he did that first and ends up homeless after as cant afford mortgage
- multiple assassins are hired to kill each other, assassin 1 is paid to kill a killer but assassin 2 is hired by the killers family to kill assassin 1 for killing the killer
- solar storm causes nuclear power plant disaster (zombie outbreak?), world in danger, radiation wipes out electricity ergo technology, government cant afford to fix the world and keep paying for medicine and NHS and education and war etc so they start a 'gift economy' whereby money is not a part of trading. rebuilding society, world functioning differently, without money-aropa like Anuta on solomon islands. Raises the question whether the solar storm was caused by the government in first place to get them out of debt, their plan all along
- revenge film, a boxer or martial artist, Wife who is pregnant with first child is killed, Maybe for no reason or maybe the killer wanted to get to protagonist as he's another boxer who wants to beat reigning protagonist champion but reigning protagonist champion refused to fight him so this is only way to provoke him enough. Maybe she was killed in drink driving accident, maybe random attack. maybe her ex lover killed her as couldn't bare to see her happy with another ma a martial arts sensei starts training his classes up for a revenge mission, anti villains to defeat evil. goes from traditional white gi's to black ones (symbolic) and dirtier tactics etcn
- tsunami separates protagonist from family and they have to find them, family presume him/her dead so never look for him?, emotional etc. About the people he meets and adventures he gets into on the way
- superhero gets powers from works in phone shop radiation, was astronaut got sun radiation, worked near power plant or was in nuclear accident? Not as cheesy as most superhero franchises. Genuine badass who kills motherf*ckerss. Anti-villain not 100% good, main characters and good guys die, doesn't necessarily get the girl. Super strength? Maybe no powers except for improved self-made weapons using the radiation he possesses? Work in phone shop or as astronaut would know the technology and physics.chemistry to create such things. Bit of a bad boy before he got powers maybe? already a thug or martial artist? Maybe real-life enemies like serial killers etc rather than magic and powers? Technology and trick-based.
