::Ssurong, Trandoshan, Bounty Hunter::
:: Shipyard, Nar Shaddaa ::

Moving from the VT to the YV freighter, Ssurong followed the crew around the shipyard. He expressed his opinions when it seemed appropriate, but he let it be well known that his knowledge of starships was minimal at best. However, the moment he laid eyes on the YV, it was apparent that this was the one that would fulfill almost all of their needs, i.e. cargo space, aftermarket armaments to protect the cargo, a large medbay, and most importantly (at least to the over six foot Trandoshan) sufficient head space. He followed silently, quietly contemplating all of the overblown and dangerous situations a ship like this could carry them through.

"Now thisss is ship.' He blurted, with about as much tact as a drunken Rancor.

"My vote is for this beauty. She's got everything we need, and personality to spare." Ssurong leaned against the wall with arms folded.

"Not to mention the fact that this one has an intact computer, and more firepower than Black Suns militia." He said with his toothy grin.

:: Kamac Setmah, Rattataki Pirate First Mate ::
:: Shipyard, Undercity, Nar Shaddaa ::

~Kamac nodded at Veega's words.  As the crew made their way through the ship and finally up to the cockpit they all expressed their opinions to the Captain and himself.  Everybody that had been positive about the Decimator was even more positive about this ship, and all that had questioned the Decimator were positive about this one.  It seemed like they had a winner.  There was still the YT-2000 to check out, but this one had more possibilities and certainly more armaments, even if they did move everything from the Venomstrike to the new YT, it would still be less than this beast.  The only thing the YT would have over the YV would be speed and maneuverability.  He had caught the looks that Tauto had given him and Veega earlier and the look Kamac got from her said that she too had seen the look and they both knew Tauto was getting suspicious.  Others might be too, but they weren't so visibly upset about it.  He leaned over and whispered something directly into Veega's ear and after he finished what she had to say she looked thoughtful for a moment and nodded.  The pair made their way out of the cockpit and to the back of the corridor and into the cargo bay.  The crew that had come up to the cockpit had followed and Kamac saw Tauto on the port side of the cargo bay checking out the extent of the damage to that turbolaser.  He whistled loudly and all the crew came together.  Veega spoke first.~

"Seems like all of ya are likin' this ship even more than tha Decimator.  There's still that YT out there ta see, and other shipyards we could visit, but I'm gonna bet this beast is gonna beat out most of what we could find.  That's fine by me an Kamac, but know it's gonna cost all of us more."

~The crew exchanged looks and all had various expressions on their faces.  Kamac spoke up this time.~

"A good part of tha loot is sold and ya'll have yer cuts from most of it, and tha rest is workin' on bein' fenced as we speak.  Tha last total of it all is gonna come to a good tidy sum.  Some of ya might be wonderin' what sort of credits that me and Veega must have secreted away ta afford a new ship of this sort, but our nest eggs ain't tha total of it all.  We've still been holding back Vullen's old cut from tha payouts."

~The others shared some looks again, wondering why a cut was still being set aside for Vullen.  Veega spoke up.~

"Ta pay fer tha ship and everything that needs ta be done ta her, Kamac an me will use our savings, plus tha cut normally set aside fer Vullen.  Ship needs a couple new armor plates, a higher grade shield generator, some sort of low profile turret that will be able to be mounted on tha bottom and be controlled by one of tha gunner stations, as well as repairs on tha dorsal turret and port turbolaser.  It will probably take most of them funds ta pay fer all that."

~There were a few dissatisfied looks at the fact that Vullen's share wasn't going to be split among them.  Kamac continued this time.~

"Keep in mind that cut fer Vullen is money ya wouldn't see normally anyway.  Me an tha Captain are just making an executive decision on how best ta make it benefit tha whole crew.  After all this, tha Ship's Articles will be changed anyhow ta remove him from from all of them, so cuts will be gettin' bigger fer everybody.  Anyway, here's tha kicker fer all of ya.  Tha remainder of tha loot that's bein' sold, me an Veega will be takin' no cut from, just tha Vullen cut fer things fer tha ship.  Supplies fer tha med bay, which includes a good proper replacement hand fer Adgil, plus probably some amenities fer tha lounge.  Also when tha Venomstrike is sold, cuts will be divided ta all of ya, however ya get no cut of that if ya decide ta split cuz ya think we're bein' unfair.  All of ya are benefittin' from this upgrade, so dun think yer gettin' a raw deal or nuthin'."

~The crew looked thoughtful, considering what had been said.  A newer, bigger, better, and more heavily armed ship certainly would benefit their endeavors as pirates.  Plus for everything going forward, they would each get paid more individually.~

:: Rumba Tarut, Twi'Lek Comm Officer/Chef ::
:: Shipyard, Nar Shaddaa ::

Rumba followed Veega and Kamac out of the cockpit and into the cargo bay for an impromptu meeting of the crew.  The Twi'Lek sat on a crate, to rest his leg, a bit off to the side so he could see the captain and first officer as they spoke, and also the reactions of the crew.  He wasn't surprised when Veega said the YV would cost a lot more, it was a lot more ship then the Venomstrike could ever hope to be.  He continued watching the others for reaction as the senior officers went on about where the money was coming from.  Some of them seemed a bit unsettled about Vullen's cut not being split, Tauto in particular seemed unhappy about the financial situation.  He sincerely hoped that wouldn't sway the gunner towards deciding to leave the ship.  Despite the fact that they almost ended up in a duel after the last mission, he considered the man a friend and a valued shipmate.  Rumba himself wasn't too fussed with the financial aspect.  He would have even offered some of his own cut if they needed it, but it looked like Veega and Kamac had everything pretty well sorted out.  This ship would after all be an investment that would enable them to take bigger hauls and get bigger payouts, plus not having to cut Vullen in would be another big increase.  Rumba couldn't see how people would disagree with this since it means more creds for everybody down the line.

Kamac was finishing up the speech and it looked like Veega was scanning the crew for reactions.  When she glanced in his direction Rumba gave the captain a little wink and a hint of a grin, indicating his full support.  He didn't have anything to say for now, but if some of the crew still disagreed with what they had said then he was prepared to speak up.

:: Ssurong, Trandoshan, Bounty Hunter ::
:: Shipyard, Nar Shaddaa ::

Ssurong was growing restless, aside from the fact that he did not understand starships the level of his crewmates understood them, but he was also getting hungry, and the tedium of wandering around the shipyard began to grate on him.

"Does anyone else feel like we've been wandering around this place for hours? And by hours I mean, for an eternity."

Resting his claws on his hips, Ssurong paused to look at his crewmates wearing expressions of confusion with hints of irritation at the unexpected statement from the Trandoshan.

"Whatever is decided I'll throw my credits in, but can we finish up so we can get something to eat...or shoot?"

::Tauto Teech, Human, Ships Gunner::
::Shipyard, Nar Shaddaa::

Tauto had listened to Kamacs speech with a fair degree of cynicism. On board the big pirate ships in which he had previously served an executive decision such as the Rattataki was describing would have likely been answered by a blaster shot or a knife in the back. On those ships the officers were elected and there was always someone hungry to replace those that didn’t perform or were caught swindling the crew. But this was not a corvette or a frigate and the crew was a handful rather than hundreds. The old gunner had seen a lot of things during his career, including the rations running out and the knives going in as the saying went. Perhaps eighteen months on this 929 and his prison mark would be entirely gone and he could look at a new life.

Tauto sighed, he would just have to make the best of it he could, as it seemed Rumba, Adgil and himself would be something akin to shareholders in the new ship as well as crew.
The Trandoshan was evidently getting restless so Tauto decided to give his opinion on the ship to hurry things along.

“Well this here ship would be good for our purposes, its fast enough to get away from capital ships and out guns most ships of a similar class. I’ve served on one of these before and a lot of crew made a lot of money, would have been more but we got rammed by a customs ship and had to abandon her in the finish.” Tauto glanced reflectively at the bulkhead as he remembered the grinding horror of the two ships coming together. “We can sort the defences against fighters as Kamac says, could probably do with some more crew though as the targets we could stop with this would need a decent sized boarding party. Anyway we can look at some other ships if you all like, but I expect you could look for a month and not find a ship markedly better. If the price is good I am happy to go with this one.”

Tauto looked at the others, the skipper and mate seemed relieved that he wasn’t going to make a fuss about the money. He would have to talk to them latter about that and the spice freighter as well if they weren’t going to try to capture it he had a buyer lined up to take the codes for a few thousand.

:: Veega Creel, Human Pirate Captain ::
:: YV929, Undercity Shipyard, Nar Shaddaa ::

Creel nodded in response to what Ssurong and Tauto said, noting that the others chose to remain quiet. Rumba had given her a wink, as always he was happy to go along with things so long as he got a decent pay out of it. Tayto seemed to settle a little from his distrust earlier. She couldn’t completely blame him, she'd had her hand in helping to overthrow a rotten Captain before. They weren’t going to miss out on their cut though, it was just going to be delayed until after the ship swap over had been sorted.

“Aye, she's a good deal, an’ her bein’ a little sparse ain't such an issue. We can find stuff cheaps enough an’ it'll bring ‘er price down. Me ‘n’ Kamac’ll go talk ta them salesmen and see what we can sort, then I think it be time ta go git a few drinks.”

That comment was met with approval, so they all left the ship, Kamac and Veega stopping to haggle price with the salesmen. The smaller fat man was definitely less intimidated when his brother was around which was somewhat of a pity, but the carefully placed casual comment about it being a pity if the Imperial authorities discovered they had a VT-49 there for sale made them more open to negotiations.

Kamac and Creel had looked in earnest over the next two days for suitable ships at other shipyards, however they couldn't find anything that compared to the YV929 and ended up returning with Rumba and Tauto in tow to finalise the purchase. They had ended up scoring her at 87k, with the offer of an 18k trade in on the Venomstrike given her modified state. Over the next few days the crew worked to remove one of their quad laser turrets to replace the YV929’s damaged turret, move their gear over and give the Venomstrike a quick tidy up. Once that was done they worked to kit out their new ship, replacing the damaged armour plate and turbo laser, getting second hand tables and seating including a holotable for the lounge area, upgrading the shields and purchasing any other needed supplies.

While all that had been going on Adgil had left to get his new hand fitted and so had ended up being excluded from much of the work. Fzz’ykk had taken her leave and left the crew, leaving their number now at seven.

A week after they had first gone to look at the YV929 they were sitting in her lounge while Rumba was in the kitchen cheerfully cooking up a storm in celebration of their new ship. Creel was lounged back on one of the short lounges with a glass of some cheap alcohol. She was in a good mood. The last of their goods had been fenced and they had a new ship, one which Veega and Kamac had paid for entirely out of their shares plus some of Vullen’s from the last mission alone without needing to dig into the crew’s share or their own savings. As a result the crew were about to receive their shares from the kidnapping mission and she had a feeling Tauto wouldn't have reason to complain about that. Kamac walked in with a bag and gave her a little nod and grin and seeing everyone but Rumba were in the room she raised her voice.

“Oi Rumba, git ya arse in ‘ere!”

The Twi’lek wandered in to stand just in from the galley with a questioning look on his face. Kamac handed everyone a bag of credits from out of the larger bag.

“Here yas go, we promised yas we would pay yas” Kamac said with a grin waiting to see what they said. Adgil, Tauto and Rumba each got their share of fifteen thousand credits while Ssurong and Tar got two and a half thousand credits each as the remainder of their compensation.

“I s’pose we have ta offer an explanation fer tha amounts” Creel said as they opened their individual bags. She and Kamac had argued about what to tell the crew, and given what they had all been through and the suspiciously large pay each would be given she had decided she wanted to tell them the truth.

“We weren'ts exactly tellin’ tha whole truth tha other day. On tha wayfarer we took we found a stash of valuables. Tha creds you already got your share of, but we also found a stash of Corsuca gems.” There was a rumble of murmured speech at that and she and Kamac received dirty looks from Tauto. “Oi, shut ya traps an’ let me finish! We didna tell yas about them fer a very good reason. We wanted ta fence ‘em ourselves an’ share tha profits between the crew rather than give Vullen ‘is share. After that karked up last mission we thoughts tha crew deserved that much, a nice lil bonus. We kept it just between ourselves so tha it couldna git back ta him what we was planning’ ta do, then after we escaped an’ got ourselves patched up we kepts it hidden so there was no way it could git out ta anyone else what kinda booty we ‘ad. Last thing we wanted ta do was advertise around ‘ere that we had a huge stash of gems an’ then creds, some locals woulda come an’ murdered us in our sleep fer it! We ‘ads ta be careful sellin’ ‘em, only a few at a time and at multiple different places so as ta avoid suspicions. What ya got there be your shares from the remainder of tha fenced stuffs, fair an’ simple. An’ before ya go quotin’ tha ship articles keep in mind that normally ya wouldna seen that much coz Vullen woulda stolen em, plus ya shares are meant ta come out after ship expenses, which ‘ave been quite high of late. Me ‘n’ Kamac ‘ave forked all tha costs of this new gal ourselves, with what would normally have been Vullen’s share coverin’ some of tha the shield upgrade an’ compensations what with our escape from Florrum an’ that injuries we gots.” She looked to the two reptiles. “Yous obviously weren't on that kriffed up shavit of a mission fer which ya should count yaselves lucky since we lost crew, so yas dun git share of tha sales, but that there is your remaining compos an’ a lil extra me ‘n’ Kamac chucked in.”

:: Adgil Maril, Human, Medic & Demolitions Expert ::
:: Shipyard, Nar Shaddaa ::

The ship was more or less purchased, the Captain and Kamac stayed behind in the YV to haggle with the salesman and his burley brother.. Adgil had waited till the next day to speak with the Captain. The conversation was short, she was being extremely understanding towards his lost limb. There were words which passed between them along the lines of loosing a slicer didnt help them, and neither would loosing their medic. He was glad, he'd be stupid to jump ship now.

Adgil may have had issues with the Imps which got his hand blown off, but he wasn't stupid. The Captain had promised he wouldn't have to worry about at least part of the cost for the replacement limb, so he went to work, or rather went out and inspected the surgeons of the underground.

After some background checks and alot of questions later Adgil managed to find a respectable Ishi Tib Surgeon by the name of June Gaam, she was apparently well known by the Gladiators in the Duelling rings below. If she could get them back up and fighting she'd hopefully do a good job on him.

Being a demolitions expert and medic meant Adgil had to go all out to get a limb with steady digits..this posed a small problem as it was more costly. In the end Adgil had spend around 8,000 credits on the hand.

The surgery itself was fine, a good surgeon with passable anaesthetics, but rehab was less than amazing, after several squashed Yogans and two further procedures to fine tune settings, Adgils cybernetic had had finally been accepted by his body. He was also aptly compensated for his trouble with the ability to toggle the power of his grip which would definitely come in handy..

When he finally got back to the YV he was greeted by an elated Rumba who slapped him on the back, Adgil winced..his new hand still needed to heal at the connection point..

He was then given a bag of credits by the Captain and instantly realised why Rumba was so happy. He straightened and mock saluted the Captain with his new hand.

"Thank you once again Captain!"

"Nice, don't loose that'n this time round eh?" Was her reply..

Adgil smirked.

:: Kamac Setmah, Rattataki Pirate First Mate ::
:: YV929, Undercity Shipyard, Nar Shaddaa ::

~Kamac was fairly happy with their purchase of the YV-929.  The price had been good, though their trade in on the other ship wasn't as high as he'd hoped.  They would manage though.  Everything that was damaged got swapped out and they upgraded the shields.  He still wanted to buy a couple mods for the main power core to boost its output for the engines, shields, and weapons as well as get a second turret that could be mounted to the lower hull to remove  that as a blind spot to fighters.  When all the crew was back together he and Veega dispensed the final cuts of the credits to everybody.  The crew was a little surprised at the reveal of the hidden gems and the sum of the credits gained from them, but they were all generally happy with their bonuses.  Some started to wander and he spoke up.~

"Oi!  Dun go nowheres just yet.  There's a few bits o' business that needs takin care of first."

~Everybody turned back and looked to Kamac.~

"First is make sure ya secure them damn credits, ya'll got lockboxes.  Dun go struttin around wit a full purse.  Dun want nobody findin yer on this crew and thinkin' that since one is loaded, tha others might be too.  Also, keeps ya from blowin' it all in one place like some numbskull.  I normally ain't one ta tell yas how ta spend yer credits, but I feel like I better say it anyway."

~Kamac and Veega didn't usually tell the crew what to do with their shares, but Nar Shaddaa was one big shady underworld and they were still trying to keep a somewhat low profile.~

"Second, this beast needs a name, and a few more parts.  Wanna install a couple mods on tha main reactor ta boost tha output fer engines, shields and weapons.  And speakin' of weapons, we need ta install another turret fer tha bottom so we ain't got such a big blind spot.  Won't be nuthin like tha quad on top, but it'll do tha job ta cover us down there.  Dun have a handle yet on what it's all gonna cost, but we's probably gonna ask ya'll ta contribute some.  Whatever ya puts in, we'll pay ya'll back outta our own shares later."

"That leads ta tha third thing.  We gots some intel on a spice shipment sitting in impound, which'll probably be our next job if it seems doable.  Probably be a pretty tidy sum dependin' what we do with it.  Tha original owner might pay handsomely ta get it back, or there's always tha open market."

~He then looked at Tauto and Veega to share what they had on this job.~

:: Ssurong, Trandoshan, Bounty Hunter ::
:: YV929, Undercity Shipyard, Nar Shaddaa ::

A week had passed since the crew had purchased their new ship, the crew debts had been paid up, and he even got into a fight over a game of Sabbacc several days earlier; for a moment all seemed right in Ssurong’s world. The Trandoshan stood silently, listening to Kamac and Veega. He would lose no sleep over the revelation that the Captain and her first mate had been withholding spoils from the rest of the crew. In the end he and his crewmate’s had received their shares, and more.

"Second, this beast needs a name, and a few more parts….”

Kamac went on to detail improvements they wanted to make to the ship, but Ssurong’s mind was awash with potential names for their newest acquisition. So deep in thought was he that Ssurong nearly missed Kamac mention a potential job; payment for spice reclamation. It sounded simple enough, but if Ssurong’s time as a pirate had taught him anything, it was that nothing is ever simple.

“I’d like to offer up a suggestion for a ship name…” He paused a moment before continuing, wearing a very proud and toothy smile.

“Thieves Gambit.”

:: Rumba Tarut, Twi'Lek Comm Officer/Chef ::
:: Lounge, YV929, Nar Shaddaa ::

The last week had been a whirlwind of activity for the Twi'Lek as well as the rest of the crew.  He pitched in when he could on the engineering tasks, but replacing damaged turrets and repairing hull plating were not his area of expertise so the first few days he spent hauling equipment and cargo from the Venomstrike to the new ship.  Once everything had been transferred over he began digging into the communications system, removing some modifications that had by his estimation been improperly done, and adding some mods of his own.  Finally, saving the best for last, he had set about getting the galley and lounge stocked and in to shape, even giving Adgil a chance to test his new hand by letting him help arrange the furniture.

While the rest of the crew was relaxing in their new lounge, Rumba was in the kitchen preparing a celebratory feast in honor of their new ship.  While he would miss the Venomstrike, after all it had been his home for years, he was happier now than he had been in a long time.  Not only did they have a bigger and better ship and new members to the family, they were no longer under the thumb of Vullen.  They were free to do and go where they please.  He was broken out of his revery by the always pleasant and eloquent voice of his captain.

“Oi Rumba, git ya arse in ‘ere!”

The Twi'Lek stepped out of the galley and into the lounge as Kamac began handing out bags to all the crew.  He opened his to see a pile of credit chips.  When he finished shuffling through them, mentally adding up the amounts, his jaw dropped.  Fifteen thousand!?  He could almost buy his own ship for that!

He quickly composed himself when Veega started to speak.  His excitement was tempered a bit when she brought up the Corusca gems, of whose knowledge she and Kamac had decided to keep to themselves.  Her reasoning was sound considering they had new crew on board, and one crewman who was noticeably disgruntled, but still he wondered.  Had she thought she couldn't trust him with that knowledge even though he had been with her longer than anybody, except Kamac, or was she just trying to not play favorites among the crew?  He kept his thoughts hidden though and maintained a pleased expression.

Rumba looked back to Kamac when he spoke up.  He felt like rolling his eyes at what the first mate had to say, but didn't.  An intelligent pirate didn't need to be told to keep his valuables locked up and under wraps.  Then again, it might actually be a good reminder for the new crew, thinking back to Ssurong flashing his winnings back in the cantina on Florrum.

Next Kamac asked about names for the ship.  Ssurong offered up Thieves Gambit.  It was catchy, but did they really want a name that reeked of pirate?  Then he had an idea.

"It ain't too piratey, but how 'bout The Resilience?  In test'ment to 'er crew.  In tha past few weeks we took worse than we ever got, we took our losses, got tha frakkin' hell shot and blown outta us, but we survived an' are comin' back stronger than before."  He look around at the group for a second and added,  "Eh, just a though.  Ah think ah'm 'bout ready fer 'nother mission."  He also wanted to tell the captain and first mate he would pitch in some creds if needed, but decided to save that for when it was less crowded.

::Tauto Teech, Human, Ships Gunner::
::VY-929, Nar Shaddaa::

It had been a busy week for Tauto since they had purchased the new ship. The port turbolasers and the dorsal turret had needed to be repaired and the gunnery systems and missile launchers re-synced with gunnery position as well as the pilot and co-pilots positions. Tautos previous experience on 929s came in useful here. Kamac and Tauto had also spent a bit of time working out what could be done about the ventral blindspot . A full turret couldn’t be fitted without altering the landing gear as the distance between the lower hull and ground was too small. They had ultimately settled on trying to obtain a low profile dual laser system that could be operated remotely from the gunners desk or the dorsal turret. There would still be blind spots along the ships flanks but these could be reduced by rolling or banking the ship.

Tauto weighed the new bag of credits in his hand, this was not how the articles said it should be done. Veasal, Kai and Rune had all missed out on their share, if the latter two were even still alive, and if Tauto had left the ship he would have missed out as well. These things tended to breed bad feelings and Tauto could think of a number of pirates who had been killed by ex-crewmates over old scores. Still he had his credits and they would just have to keep it quiet.

There was also the question of a new name for the ship, Ssurong suggested Thieves Gambit which was as good a name for a pirate or smuggler as you could hope for, but announcing that to all and sundry might not always be helpful. Rumba threw in Resilience which could potentially pass off as the name for a system defence ship, Tauto could think of at least two larger warships that shared that name. Tauto thought for a moment, “Thalastra is fairly neutral name that I like or Truculent if you want something with a bit more backbone. I don’t mind Rumbas suggestion either” the gunner added in an offhand way.

Finally Kamac had mentioned the spice ship at Feriae. The gunner had spoken at length about it to both the skipper and the mate, it could be a valuable prize, but there were obstacles that needed to be overcome. Tauto looked at the crew and started to fill them in.
“Well I expect you remember how we got that frakker of a Rodian Deek to pay his debts back on Florrum” he said looking at Rumba, Ssurong and Blaktar who had witnessed or been involved in the fight. “turns out I got some useful information from him and a bit more from a certain Kubaz before the Empire turned up. There’s this freighter you see, a Lantillian Shorthauler, with a hidden load of spice impounded over near Feriae Junction. It’s Captian got himself locked up in Junction City and his ship is being held at an impound space station, near one of the moons in the system. We have the launch codes for the ship and if we can lift it we will get a bonus load of spice.”
Tauto left off so as to give the Captain a chance to speak.

Ssurong's eyes perked at Tauto's suggestion of, Thalastra, as a ship name. Amongst the nomads of Dosha there was a story of Thalaschock, it was a realm beyond the living, but also not of the dead. It was said that only those who had accumulated the highest of jagganath points during their life would be worthy enough to walk in this world. In this realm you would be able to see all things, past, present, as well as the future; you would even have the ability to communicate with the living through their dreams.

"Thalastra reminds me of an old Trandoshan myth, one not widely known by my species. It's passed down by nomadic tribes to the next generation through story alone." The Trandoshan looked genuinely pleased at the prospect of their new ship being named after something so close to his heart.

"You can consider that two votes for, Thalastra." He said with a smile, dripping with contentment.

~Kardac nodded as he listened to the crew.  A few good ideas came up, some of them more subtle than others.  Then Tauto brought up the possible mission.  They certainly didn't have all the details yet and they'd have to do a bit of scouting beforehand.  If they could get another ship out of it, so be it, but the main goal was the spice on board.~

"That Thalastra, some sorta happy hunting ground fer ya'll right?  Ya'll get ta go there if ya get enough of them score point things eh?  Suppose that'd be alright, that or I like Resilience.  We'll pick one before we leave."

~He looked to Veega and she nodded.~

"Anyway, I'm on board goin' afta' this spice, but we need ta find more out 'bout this station an' what sorta measures it has in place.  Start with tha holonet, see what we can find about it, then hit tha streets, tha bars, and tha information brokers and see what more can be dug up on this place.  Look fer spacers, people that run cargo and tha like.  They'll be yer targets fer info.  Most'll prolly give ya a few words if ya buy em a drink.  Yer credits will be paid back if it turns ta be good info.  It'll be a few days fer us ta get tha parts and get em installed, then we're blastin' off ta go get our score.  During that time, while yer out, take note of anything tha ship still needs ta be supplied with that might be useful for tha mission."

~The group nodded and went off to do things in their own way.  He and Veega however went and did some more shopping for the ship and the parts he wanted to acquire to bring her up to serious fighting level.~

The Next Day

~It took the rest of the previous day and part of this one, but they found everything he wanted.  The bright side of having a CEC ship was that there were all sorts of modular parts available.  On his list was an add-on secondary reaction chamber for the main reactor which would boost their total power output by another twenty to twenty-five percent, a turbo infusion pump which would get them another five to ten percent out of the reactor, and an auxiliary control matrix which would help keep the energy flow of all of the power modifications stable.  Also on his list was a ventral turret for the bottom of the ship.  They managed to locate a Taim & Bak H4 that was low profile enough to fit and would be sufficient firepower to give anybody pause that thought to attack them from below.  With their shopping list complete, they had headed back to the ship some of the crew had begun to find leads and intel on the station.  He shared the shopping list of parts with the crew and most chipped in at least some.~

The Next Three Days

~Parts were bought and brought back to the ship.  While most of the crew was out checking leads, Kamac spent most of his time installing the parts with some assistance from Veega and Tauto at various times.  Finally at the end of the third day everything was installed and ready.  Without taking the ship out it was hard to test it all, but he brought all the ships systems online, including bringing shields weapons to full ready, as well as doing a warmup on the engines and the reactor wasn't even outputting fifty percent.  Of course this didn't simulate having the engines actually running at full or having all the weapons firing, but given how little he was pushing the reactor at this point, the results were quite promising.  With the ship's systems ready, they just needed to pick which of the two names they wanted and then act on the info that had been gathered.~

Kamac had instructed the crew to be on the lookout for information regarding their newest venture; naturally, Ssurong headed straight for the seediest Sabacc den he could find. He played through quite a few patrons, asking pointed questions to several patrons with only middling success. From what he had gathered, the station sounded like it had moderate defenses, which was not shocking, however he also discovered that he was not the first person to come through asking about the spice station.

With the small amount of information he had gained, he returned to the hangar bay to relay what he had learned. Ssurong made his way on board their newly acquired ship, and toward the computer systems near the cockpit. There he found first mate Kamac, meticulously inspecting the consoles.

"Sir, I have some potentially troubling news to relay." Ssurong said with a pause.

Kamac said nothing, but returned a look that told Ssurong to continue.

"Based on the rumblings of the Sabaac patrons, we are not the only people interested in this station."

Ssurong spent his time prepping his gear by cleaning his blasters and sharpening his knives. He was growing anxious the last few days in the lead up to their mission, and had been pacing around the lounge area of the ship.

::Tauto Teech, Human, Ships Gunner::
::VY-929, Nar Shaddaa::

Tauto had had a busy few days assisting with the repairs and upgrades of the still unnamed ship and following up leads on further information about the impounded spice smuggler.

The repairs had gone well and the gunner had managed to get some further information on the target ship but it had also become apparent that the ex-venomstrike crew were not the only beings interested in the shorthauler. Sitting at the gunnery station Tauto pondered this unwelcome interest. Not that it should be surprising really, Nar Shaddaa and the spice trade went hand in hand and when a shipment went missing or was intercepted it would be on Nar Shaddaa one way or another that the consequences were felt. Also Tauto had added to this himself as he had made some enquiries about selling the spice smugglers launch codes before the crew had decided on buying the new ship. These enquiries had added to existing rumours so it was now likely a number of crews may be taking an interest.

Tauto had found out that the target ship, which was of little value itself, was impounded on a lower security station that orbited Moraices in the Feriae system. This was good news as it placed it a little bit away from the most heavily populated planet Feriae Junction and the nearby shipping roadstead.  Tauto had not visited Junction as it was commonly called for several years, and then it had been to opportunistically grab a tramp freighter as it dropped out of the Hydain Way to head down the Gordian Reach . The empire now had a small presence in the system and it was rumoured the rebellion did also. Certainly the Hutts had interests there and those who knew the place that Tauto had spoken to in the Nar Shaddaa Cantinas reported that corruption within the system security forces was not uncommon.

The gunner looked approvingly at available energy data streams and charge rates of the ships gunnery, shield and engine systems. If they could trick their way aboard that space station and grab the freighter fast he was confident that the newly acquired VY-929 would get them and their prize safely to hyperspace.
