Ok, I've searched & i haven't seen anyone else running up against this:

win 7 premium home
Norton antivirus
Logged in as admin

when i extract the lsu converter & missing ulstrasabers_small.bmp from the v2.2.2 zip file  to a folder one of 3 things happens
1) double click on it the exe & I get a permissions error & Norton eats the file as dangerous
2) norton straight up eats the  EXE file
3) I go to properties & set to "run as admin" click OK & Norton eats it.

Is there a 3.0 installer anywhere ? I'm not seeing one.

OK I got it fixed. not straightforward at all.

1) copied the LSU converter.exe & ulstrasabers_small.bmp to a folder i set-up on the desktop for sound fonts
2) Seems Norton sees the file as a threat for some unclear reason & eats the EXE file.
3) I had to "Restore" the file from within norton to get it to whitelist the LSU converter.exe file. once I did that I got the comdlg32.ocx registration error.
4) To fix the Registration error I copied the ocx file to c:\windows\syswow64\comdlg32.ocx
5) Went to the search box in Start & typed in CMD
6) when CMD popped up in the start menu I right clicked on it & "run as Administrator"
7) when the command window opened I typed in "regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\comdlg32.ocx" & hit enter
Cool once the OCX registered the program launches

Hello HalfCracked!!!

I've got the same problem with the message " Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

I'm on windows 8. And i'm from europe, so i don't understand your explication of the resolution about this problem. IF you have the time, can you explain
me clearly (like if it was for a kid Smiley ) step by step your solution please?

Thank you Smiley

I've just buy a soundfont and i want to convert it!!! Smiley

let me try, but these instructions are specific to win7 you may need to adjust for the newer operating system:

1) you will need to  Download and copy comdlg32.ocx into the folder that you installed the program in.
you can get the file here: http://www.saberforum.com/Obsidian/comdlg32.ocx
2) Copy the ocx file to c:\windows\syswow64\comdlg32.ocx
3) click start button (win8 hides the start button)
4) In the "searchprograms & files" box type in CMD
don't hit return wait for search results to pop up above the search box
6) when CMD poppes up as a search result right click on it & select "run as Administrator"
a smalll window that is a black screen & white text with a command prompt should pop up
7) when the command window openes typed in "regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\comdlg32.ocx" without the quotes & hit enter.
you should get a notice about sucessful registration
Cool you should now be able to lalunch the LSU converter
