And here is the last one in the set. This short routine combines the elements from all 8 videos in set 1. In this video, I walk you through it step by step. We will expand on this with later sets.

I think this one will take me a little bit longer to master. But I think I can get it. Thanks for doing these.

I was originally away on vacation when you put these up, but I definitely wanna say they are amazingly helpful. I'm still having a little trouble with the Obi-Ani but I'm getting there. Anyways, keep up the good work!

This is the second set of tutorials in the reboot series. The key phrase for this one is complicating things. This set grafts martial elements on top of the basic flow from set one and brings the off hand into play. It also covers a bit more footwork and reverse grip. As will all sets in this series, it begins with theory and ends with practice, concluding with a move set that modifies the one in the first set and ties together all the elements of the second set into a short capstone routine.

The first is a theory video on the 7 forms
I posted this earlier so will leave it off of here

Hey Darth Cephalus,
Just wanted to give you a shout out about your tutorials.I started studying them about a year ago and I feel that I have come very far and have learned so much. You are a great teacher! I now am passing on the basics to my padawan daughter who is doing very well and showing great promise. I will continue on to more of your intermediate teachings and master those long before I even think of your advanced courses, but wanted know if you could suggest a style of gloves to me. I spin my saber bare handed for now but am also constructing a "gray jedi" costume and would like to have gloves as part of the attire but gloves seem to disable my flow, if that makes any since. I look forward to hearing from you and may the force be with you.
Your student, Gray Jedi Sam Adam

Hey Sam. I am glad you have been finding them of use. The thing with light sabers is so few people have the sticktoiness to progress to the interesting stuff. You sound like you are in it for the long haul, especially since you are turning around and teaching them to your Padawan. I have to say, trying to explain the techniques to others really helps you get a better handle on them too. As for gloves, I suggest either thin stretch gloves like spandex or isatoners. If you want thinker gloves or leather, go fingerless. It makes a world of difference with control of the blade. I use fingerless leather ridgeback gauntlets from Verillas myself.

Thanks for the pointers on the gloves Darth Cephalus. When I get enough confidence to do so, I will post a video to show my progress along with the my padawan, when she is ready to do so. Appreciate what you do brother. It is truly an art form that should be respected.

And set 3 is ready. I have not finished the routine yet, but these are the tutorials. This set ended up a bit longer than the others. The theme is modification.

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 1- Behind the Back Switches
This video deals with the idea of working behind your back. This builds on the other 2 sets and follows the idea of modifying moves and changing where you do them relative to your body.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wb93Y3YjFg" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wb93Y3YjFg</a>

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 2- Building the Blade Barrier: First Steps
This video deals with the first steps to building a move called the blade barrier. Specifically it looks at 2 and 3 beat moves behind the back. The first set in this series may be seen here.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oa-Lw70s9ew" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">www.youtube.com/watch?v=oa-Lw70s9ew</a>

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 3- Building the Blade Barrier: Final Steps
This video deals with the final steps to building a move called the blade barrier. Specifically it looks at a full behind the back clock face spin (4 beats) and the blade barrier itself (5 beats).
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2uNWQV6c5M" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2uNWQV6c5M</a>

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 4- Horizontal Plane
This video deals with the horizontal plane, getting around the body, and cloud spins.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnuGmkGVTq0" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnuGmkGVTq0</a>

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 5- Cross or X Step & Combo
This video deals with a new element of footworc called cross steps, X steps, or coiled steps. It also discusses low strikes and a combo that combines the two.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ6X4GF7hgM" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ6X4GF7hgM</a>

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 6- Orbit Guards
This video deals with orbits or orbits guards. This is alternately referred to as the third orbit.

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 7- Bent Plum Flower Spin
This video introduces the idea of the forward plane and uses it to isolate the plum flower spin closer to one side of the body. This will eventually allow dual wield plumb flowers.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlO5hiUlmDs (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 8- Building the Wing Spin: Over the Shoulder
This video begins to work on the wing spin by turning the obi/ani spin from set 1 upside down into an over the shoulder spin.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQMtUsS-Wqs (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 9- Building the Wing Spin: Putting it Together
This video finishes work on the wing spin by combining the obi/ani spin with the over the shoulder spin into a 5 beat move on one side of the body.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=-B0Cc1SamiA (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 10- Reverse Eclipse Spin
This video goes back and looks at how to do the eclipse or obi/ani spin fully in reverse. It includes some tips for not throwing out your shoulder.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pQWx1MFj38 (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 11- Reverse Plum Flower
This video uses the idea of reversing things from the last video and applies it to the full plum flower spin.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYj1ACeOh3o (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

Lightsaber Use: Set 3. part 12- Reverse Wing Spin
This video uses the idea of reversing things from the last two videos and applies it to the wing spin.

One thing I've always loved about this forum is seeing all the innovating things Ultrasabers comes out with, like the quick release. The other thing I love is seeing the innovative ways people use those things and how they enhance their own styles with them. The modification you did to the QR is so subtle, yet so much better in my opinion. Being able to release from anywhere on the grip makes it so much easier and cleaner when spinning.

Now if I can just smooth out the reconnect. I have two solid methods. Body movement and " Elbow Position " but both have a mediocre success rate when you begin to spin at speed.
