Hello!

Yesterday I got my Archon v2.1 Emerald with sound!  It's my first saber and I am very happy with it.  But it is a bit too long to wear on my belt.  Is the blade able to be cut shorter?  I mean I know I could cut it with a hacksaw, but does it create any problems?  I have the Ultra Edge Heavy duty model, and it says there is some kind of film inside of it so I don't want to mess it up.

thanks

The film would probably be a problem. you'd have to cut the blade first then cut the film & re-glue it back in.

I use a dremel with a stone cutoff wheel. On high speed it kind of burns through and cuts the film smoothly along with the outer tube. I have cut heavy and mid grade blades the same.

It does produce some dust so wear a mask if you try this way and be prepared to blow particles out of the hollow blade or get bright spots.

Here's a good tutorial on how to cut a blade without problems: http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=20159.0
