A normal mini USB cord should be fine. You certainly have one of these at home - they're common for connecting external hard disks or charging PlayStation or XBox game controllers.
Follow this order ONLY when connecting your board to the PC:
1. Turn your saber on.
2. Plug the cord into the board and into an USB 2.0 port.
3. Wait until the driver has been installed (only when the board is connected the first time).
4. Install the launcher as administrator and then run the Launcher as administrator (if applicable to a Mac).

Has anyone been able confirm with certainty that using the v4 Mac Launcher Software to configure a v3 Soundboard won't damage the soundboard in any way? I understand that the new features in the Launcher are irrelevant on the v3 board, but I just want to finally be able to use my own computer to edit the sounds in my v3's one bank without damaging the board.

There shouldn't be a problem with damaging the board since the v4 launchers are fully compatible with the v3 board and its features.

This is my first time using Obsidian Sound and it's V4. Do I need a certain cord or something to plug the board into my computer?
Just a standard usb mini cable which you will see the connection when you remove the pommel of your saber to get access to the batteries and the board you can find usb mini cables in a lot of places if you don't already have a few and are dirt cheap. Just make sure it's usb mini and not usb micro that is a different connection and won't fit |

ok so i am a mac user i also have used it on windows 7 on friends pc
the launcher run better on mac hands down
windows ver has more stuff (light effects lsu converter)
can we plz get light support for mac
in the mean time ill work on seeing if i can convert to lsu but mac reads it as a terminal file so not an easy task
also convert from lsu to wav why because

Is it ready for emerald sabers? i got my azure menace emerald few months ago and can't utilize to change saber color. also don't know how to use sound fonts. nothing comes up

Up to now there is no Emerald function integrated yet. Only the 3.2.2 launcher (noted 3.1.4 here on the forum) - which is only Windows compatible, though - can handle the Emerald Driver.
Do you want to change your sound fonts on the fly, i.e. do you have a v4 sound board or still the v3? If you have the v4, turn off your saber, hold the switch several seconds to enter config mode, cycle through the fonts until you found your favourite, then press the switch again several seconds to confirm.
If you have the v3, then turn your saber on, connect it with a mini USB to your PC and run the launcher. You can now change your sound fonts, but you don't have access to functions exclusive to the new v4 sound board.
