Can thumb screws be requested during ordering? I would much prefer those over the hex screws.

This quest is best asked in an email to Deep.  Most of the members won't know this and the official staff of US isn't online often enough to give you an answer.  Throw out an email and see what you get back.

You could always go out and buy the thumb screws too.  They aren't very expensive.

Plus you need a hex screw to attach the thumb screw, i say go to lowe's home depot or some other hard ware store and get some for dirt cheap.
