I downloaded the Windows drivers from US. I had a few problems with my laptop recognizing the saber. I downloaded Windows updates and turned computer off. Went back in, turned on saber, opened the US icon on desktop, connected the USB. Initially, it stated "Obsidian v4 detected". Then my saber died. Nothing. This was from a full charge on batteries. The saber would not activate. I took batteries out and placed in charger. It took another 45 min to charge them. Reinserted into the saber, checked function, all went well. Re- attached USB to saber, began to enter programming, saber died, once again. Not sure "why" but, seems there may be a glitch(?)

I've just had similar - but using the mac driver. Saber went dead, though I had sound, but AV switch and LED died, completely dead. Have got the batteries in the charger now so we'll see what happens when I go in again later.
Maybe just that the driver drains power very fast ??

got mine yesterday and it won't stop clashing. Right out of the box. I emailed US to see what they say about it. kinda scared to plug it up now haha was gonna try to see if I could do anything with it there buuuut. Ill let yall know!

Why is the obsidian soundboard and the emerald led so expensive. And can we just choose a simple speaker instead of the obsidian soundboard?

The Obsidian and Emerald boards are tiny electrical boards that perform many functions. They are micro boards and the time and effort going into creating them does justify a "higher" cost. That said, you can purchase boards from the "other guys" and do the soldering yourself YET, it is not for the "electronically squeemish"! Add in the labor of US and their reasonable markup, you have what you see in terms of "expense". Is it worth it? Unquestionably! Do you need an "Emerald" board? That's up to you and how much flexibility you want with color and effects. The obsidian is a tour de force for sound and the OBS v4 is worth every penny of the additional $10 above v3. Sound and light are the essence of any lightsaber. If you don't care about the sound, get a stunt. In terms of "simple speaker"....what comes with a sound board IS a "simple speaker" and is only utilized to transmit the sound board fonts. You can't have sound in a US saber without the OBS board. Yes, I recently bought a Dark Anvenger V4+ Obsidian V4 - Violet Amethyst + Silver Clash. Awesome unit but having trouble programming, not sure where to upload sound files in the Ultra-saber program. I looked at videos and things but can't figure it out. Help!

I love the new obsidian v4. I got my first saber not to long ago with the v4 sound and its clear and crisp.

Does anyone know how to fix a problem I am having with my Menace V4 with sound and light . My saber won't light at all, only when it confirms which saber setting it it on it lights up green confirming then when I have it confirmed the saber won't light up. I have downloaded the ultra sabers Obsidian V 4 launcher but for some reason it software won't let me test the saber in the colors, both buttons wont work. when I right click on the download it also won't pull up anything so I can run it as an administrator?? Please Help !!
