The one thing I can say is that I can do it with the left hand as well to avoid the reset. I will post a video later.

Dammit. I was practicing my left hand earlier as well. It wasn't to perform the reset But  to learn to do a horizonal aerial spin catch with both hands at the same time. More technical, But doesn't look great,. I can pull it off but finger rolls work better. In the mean time i've been practicing what i call the "lazy cross-over" passing sabers between hand while in upward spins..  then placing 2 sabers in one hand ( using parallel blades could come in use,) to do an aerial trick. Then i was practicing the cross over spins while i switch grips from standard to reverse and back . Don't know whats been done and/or covered before , but enjoy anyway. and may the force serve you.

Watching your stuff always makes me think I should try to spend more time in reverse grip. The hand switch is interesting. I do something a lot like this but while the blades are going towards or away from each other in front of me. You can see it in a lot of my routines. Yours has a different more low profile look by being in parallel. It could be a real nice bit to throw in once it gets smother It has that element of a hand switch that could go unnoticed where your audience only discovers later that the blue blade is in the other hand and has to go back to see how it got there. The two saber grip thing is something I have also been working on. I have been trying to hold them reversed from each other though in a staff like set up before the pass off. It is not developed enough to post, but I think you get the idea. My ultimate goal is a have them in one hand facing opposite directions, release one, and roll it behind my back for a catch with the off hand. That is part of what that behind the back drop pass I posted in non-martial arts was about. I am close to landing it but not there yet. Wish I had the slimmer V2s sometimes.

Just a quick thrown together one to show you what I mean. A horizontal flower hand switch like yours with each hand, transition to a false staff, and back to dual wield.

Yes you should. If it feels awkward, it won't be long before it doesn't. Remember the days when the obi-ani took thought. After a bit of practice your confidence and muscles and the M memory will develope. Don't Neglect reverse grip Cephalus. Practice what you preach. lol.  If you can do a move in standard grip, and do the move backwards. Then learn reverse grip doing the move forwards and backward then you've doubled the amount of moves and increased variations if you wanted to have one saber adopting each grip for example.
I think alot of people give up on reverse grip because of the lack of control, and some of the moves look awkward and clumsy. And some of them are. But then i think my duel reverse grip forwards alternating plumb flower is my most stylish and coolest and also difficult move to do, but it really pays off. I did spend just days practicing like a padawan purely on reverse grips. Hip reels, downward and upward 8's then advance flowers, then obi ani, simultaneous and alternating, then backwards obi ani in reverse grip, then build it up to the alternating plumb flower and so on. After a while you get that click when everything fits into place and sometimes reverse grip can be my preference. Now i'm getting better and swapping from forwards to reverse grip effortlessly. And watching my friend flare his bottles and tins around helped with that first video i posted in the thread with the reverse grip backwards lob over the head.

Dual inverse plum flower is coming along nicely. You can shorten that cross over so it does not slow you down so much by treating it more like a baseball swing than a slash. I have done this one a fair bit in reverse grip as well, and there you can still tighten the crossover by keeping the blade tighter to your forearm and leading with the hand rather than the tip as you cross over. If it is not swinging so wide, it makes it over quicker.

I took a look at my version of this again in a mirror after I posted. Strike what I said, I am leading with the blade as you are, it just does not feel like I am while I do it. My mistake.

Its because of the clunky awkwardness of reverse grip. makes everything feel odd and like you have to over exaggerate every move. Haven't a clue what sort of move i'm going to try and learn / practice tonight and later on. Maybe i'll be working on trying to do different moves with each hands i.e. obi ani one hand figure 8 with the other and switch the sides over. And so on. I believe i could possibly stubble accross a couple of funky tricks. Also got a few epic backdrops for videos sorted out soon aswell as i will go Urban Lightsaber Spinning.

Great spins. You have gained power during your hibernation. Point to you and point to the graffiti.

DARTH CH3M15T a quick question if you don't mind. How do 36 inch blades look on the hilts if dual wielding? I don't plan on spinning and VERY VERY little sparing. The sabers will mostly be for costuming purposes. I guess my question is if 36 inch blades look too big on hilts like the Initiate LE v4 or the   Apprentice LE v4?

P.S. The look im going for http://puu.sh/i8M0h/ef3fe5e08f.jpg minus the curved hilts.

P.S.S. Awesome spins what a awesome city to have that kind of graffiti.

Eeak if i'm to sort out photos that might take a bit. but i'm sure there must be other sources. I Mean it should look ok. If its purely for prop it'll look badass. its only when it comes to doing spins you tend to stab the floor with it. But also theres the hole practicality of taking them around with you. 36" is long my leg length is like 32" so i know i'd be accidentally poking and knocking things over with them if i wasn't paying attention. not to put a downer on in :-S.  Go with what feels more comfortable.  Its a personal choice thing and everyones different . I Wish i could have been more use to you but meh... Sorry Old Chap

That character looks epic. i'm wanted to be obi wan from episode 2. in time for episode VII

That graffiti is like down some weird access road where there some random community center thingy with basket ball courts and stuff. but its tiny and its closed after like 6 ?? meh . so when i rocked up at 9 i have to climb the fencing to do this. lols.  I live close to Chester but this was in my home town 7 miles away of Ellesmere Port. Some random northern industrial town

Thanks for the response. And since i probably wont be having them upside down that might not be too much of a problem.
