Say Hello to "The Pillar" - My Custom Aeon

So this is the result of several hours of work over the last week, I call it "The Pillar"
The idea being it's an ancient sith saber from an unnamed sith lord's tomb - found encased in a center pillar.

I like how well you got the look down. It looks like just a little tight grip could break it at this point. It also feels like it could be a recovered empire dig saber kept by a captain or something as a show piece.

I really wanted it to have the look that it was barely held together and damaged - maybe the user has to use the force to even keep it together.

Brother!  GREAT job on the mod!  Very creative and beautiful detailing!  I really get the impression you're striving for.  Did you use a Dremmel?  I build rifles as a hobby and have found Dremmels are extremely versatile!  I really like the light coming through the "X" crack.  The Force is definitely guiding you, my friend!  Point!

Yup, used lots of dremmel. Three different sized cutting tools, a sanding implement, and an engraver. Yeah, I imagine the X cut is peaking into the crystal chamber. I'd love to do mods like this as a hobby, I need limitless hilt access.

If the saber has sound (or sound later on) the "Ancient Saber" sound font would fit this hilt perfectly.

It doesn't currently have sound, but I'll probably add sound to it - the ancient saber sounds would be great for it

Fantastic workmanship... this is something that wouldn't look out of place in an "Indiana Jones" temple dig.

Man, ANY way you go, you can't go wrong!  I suppose it comes down to cost and options.  The more I look at your creation, the more it looks like it belongs in a glass display case....like you would see on a pedestal in a museum!  Wonderful job!  You, sir, are an artiste'!  Getcha' another point for being so damn good at what you do!  I can't wait to see your next masterpiece!

My first thought was those darkened choke points, years of Sith Dark side force energy permanently discolouring and burning the metal..... Your ancient Sith owner was very strong with the Dark side of the Force......

As everyone has said, the X cut letting the red LED through is sensational..... Love the cracks.... Love the pommel..... and what's the blade plug you're using?
