for some reason my prophecy does not light up in daylight (at least not visibly)   and i was wondering if this could be  a result of the ultra edge heavy grade blade on it

Shiny saber you got there, let me fix that.

It's definitely a draw back of the ultraedge blade, it'd still be faint (still visible though) in general daylight with a standard blade, but the ultraedge really loses the color in daylight.

It depends on the LED as well. Not every LED can stand up to the sun very well, the Luxeon Rebels especially. If you really want to be able to see your saber during the day, you either need an LED string blade or get a Cree XP-L white with a colored tube.
