I'm just curious, what is the expected battery life on an emerald saber, Obsidian v4, blade flicker and FoC enabled (AV switch is not lit)?  I know this is probably the most power hungry configuration, but I'm not sure what the draw is and how long the set of included 14500s should last between chargings?  Seems like I can just sit there for a while tweaking colors/configs and such and the battery is getting close to drained.

Probably about a half hour to an hour of constant use.

I'd also say about 1 hour. Depending on how many channels you're using and at which power, the exact runtime can vary.

Great, thank you for the replies.  I am using the Trustfire 14500s that came with it, I've heard that you can get batteries of higher quality that have a slightly better life (I know the batteries that advertise high mah are bogus, like the 2000mah 14500 generics and such), does anyone have any recommendations for ones that hold out a bit more?

In 14500 size, you won't find anything larger than 900mah. 18650's can go as high as 3400.

Yeah, but you didn't mention the swap out, wiring, possible resistors, yadda, yadda.  Though, I would think it should be an easy swap out; battery carrier for battery carrier and wire attachments.  Using the Buckpuck should still be viable(?)

Buck Puck is only viable if one runs a 7.4 volt stick pack, but depending on his saber, there may not be enough room for all of that.

That's right.  The 18650 is only 3.7V AND singular.  Indeed!
