If you get 32 inch blades you can always cut them down to the size that works for you. For the other questions, I couldn't give an answer. I don't own the Prophecy. You can check the review section though. I believe someone just did a review for the Prophecy.

Whoa lots of questions haha.  Ok so 1.70m is around 67 inches which is 5 foot 7.  I think you're making a good choice looking at the 24 and 32 blades - some people go for the 36" ones and I just can't see that being practical for anyone except Shaq lol.  This is something I feel is a personal choice - some people like shorter staves, some like longer ones.  There are many types of staves as well - shorter ones like the jo, and longer ones like the bo.  I think Jersey has a good point about the 32" ones - you can always cut them down if you find it too unwieldy.  For this reason, I say go with the 32" but as I said, it's your choice.

Master Artorius, feel free to correct me or add to my comments as you see fit.

I have cut down a few blades myself, and I consider myself no expert but you could cut down your own blades.  If you want you can also ask Deep in the comments box to cut down the blade length in the shop.  Deep does a much better job than I do so I usually default to him.  Maybe 30" blades to start.

At the end of the day it's a personal choice.  I'd say go with 32 and cut them down or have someone cut them down for you.

Hi.
I would say either the Phantom Initiate (32") or go with Phantasm (24")?

5' 7" as well, recently I ordered the Phantom Initiate v2 staff w/ 32" blades and I would say that's the extreme for me as far as how I use the staff.   FOR THE RECORD: <<Main use is for my wife and I to have sabers for single sword practice/play.  We ordered the length based on our chinese broad swords, so it's a little longer than I would like a staff.>>  My regular waxwood staff is 64" (just above eyebrow).  I haven't had a lot of time with it in staff form but based on what I've seen so far I would probably order a 'dedicated' staff as a Phantasm w/24" blades.  That would be closest to my comfort zone & be easier to spin vertically.  Also, the added hilt length, I'm assuming, would mean switches/slides can be accomplished without 'sabering' your hand off (touching the blade).

88", IMHO, is just too long for practical use by a 5'7" person (YMMV).  By practical I don't mean taking down Sith, I mean going thru forms or spinning controls without whacking the ground

Overall length (tip to tip)   73.5"
Blade (tip to hilt)               28"
Hilt (blade to pommel)       9"

**actual blade length is @ 31"

Hope this helps.  I really need to do a review post with pics.

Jedi Hound makes some good points, but another thing to consider is your skill level. I am assuming that you are still fairly new to saber dueling(correct me if wrong), so I will make a comparison here. I'm 6 ft tall and a beginner as far as spinning and 1 on 1 dueling go. I ordered the initiate V2 LE with 24 inch blade. At my skill level this seems to be just right(for me) as far as spinning it around without clobbering myself and without hitting the blade on the ground. Recently I ordered a second matching Initiate V2 LE with coupler so I could form a battle staff. I'm confident in forming the staff now because I know that the 24 inch blades are within my skill level at this time, and I should be able to handle the overall length when it is assembled. I also know that as I improve my skill at spinning and 1 on 1 dueling, I can order new longer blades for the staff. This gives me time to save up my money and reward points for exactly what I want the next time around. My next step will be a new matching Dominix V2 with coupler to form a longer staff handle which I can put 36 inch blades on. If the blades prove to be too long, they can be cut down to any size between the 24 and 36 inches.

So as you see there is room to grow, and plenty of customization options available to you. It all just depends on what is most comfortable for you at any given time. In the meanwhile, try spinning a wooden dowel around for a bit and see where your skill level and comfort zone is. It has proved useful to me, and I think you may benefit from it.

I hope at least some of this proves useful to you.

Cheers,
DJ

I would recommend the 24 inch blades while learning the reverse grip like Asajj. Unless you're confident that you can handle  the longer blades with the inverted grip style.

I think Hound and Jersey bring up some interesting points.  If I had to recommend one of Hound's options, I would say go with the longer hilts (Phantasm) with the shorter blades (24").  The reason?  You have more area to grip and hold while spinning the staff.  One of the tough parts of a saberstaff is that it doesn't translate exactly over to a real staff - real staff techniques in many martial arts involve grabbing all parts of the staff, not just the middle couple of feet.  Like Jersey said, you can always get longer blades down the road as your skill level increases.  The 24" blades should work well for you, especially when you break the staff into two separate sabers - shorter blades are more maneuverable and a good place to start.

Yes i will take indeed the 24 inches (phantasm is the lightsaber that i want anyways) so that will be good for me  i will add and a cenverted wheel to make it even geekier(if there is such a word Tongue)  and cooler ofcourse Cheesy.

Darthinvader, if you can be patient, my Initiate comes today and I can post a picture of the 24 inch blades and how tall it is standing next to me.

Our postman ran late(I realize it's 3 am where you are now), but here is the picture I promised. This is 2 Initiate V2 LE sabers joined with a coupler. The length I measured this at is 5.5 feet long. I want to note for you that the Phantasm will be longer than this by near 6 more inches total length.
