:: Darth Severus ::
:: Court yard training area ::

Lightning lit up the sky of Dromund Kaas as Severus lifted his head feeling the large pellets of rain as they dropped on his forehead. The training was informal so Severus had left his battle gear in the compound and had brought his Dark Mantis saber to train with. Severus rolled his neck and focused his mind on Lord Arch’elev attempting to spread a slow sickness throughout his body. Severus knew Arch had studied the dark arts of Sith Sorcery as well so he did not want the sickness to come on too strong, he did not want to alert Arch, just a mild slowing of the sense, and elevation of temperature and a general fatigue of the muscles that should build as the exercise went on.

Severus smiled as he looked to Arch who was at west entrance of the courtyard some 15 meters to his right and to Rifter who was across the courtyard 30 meters away at the south entrance. “Lord Arch’elev, Lord Rifter are you ready?”

Before either Rifter or Arch could reply Severus sent a bolt of Force Lightning across the courtyard aimed squarely at Rifter’s chest. Severus grabbed his saber from his belt and headed towards Arch picking up several of the loose cobble stones with the force and throwing them in Arch’s general direction. Severus kept most of his attention focused on Arch, watching his actions closely. He had never seen Arch in combat before and wanted to see how he would react, what he was capable of.

In answer to Severus, Arch'elev drew his saber and held it up before him in a defensive pose. At the back of his mind, he felt the roiling hatred seething at the back of his mind. His eyes darted between Darth Severus and Lord Rifter. When Severus threw cobbles at him, Arch'elev reached out with the Force and plucked them from Severus' grasp, sending them clattering to the floor.

With Severus charging him, Arch'elev dodged to the side, putting Severus between himself and Rifter, which gave him an idea. He reached out with the Force and used it to give Rifter a boost of speed, hoping the other Sith would hit the temporarily distracted Darth.

Lord Abaddon entered through the final entrance to the courtyard, having to duck to walk under the archway. The large man made his way slowly into the corner and noted that Darth Severus had already begun the match. Abaddon's bare toes and heels made a light patting sound as he walked across the cobblestone.

Seeing that Severus had clearly chosen who he wished to spar, Abaddon looked towards the former apprentice of Severus, Lord Rifter. Making note of the two large boulders, he slowly walked toward them, keeping his eyes on the former apprentice.

Taking his stance silently, Abaddon regarded Lord Rifter with a simple nod. His challenge had been made clear.

Severus moved with Arch, his back was now to Rifter which wasn’t ideal but he had worked with Rifter for so long that he could feel him if he was approaching and while Rifter was quick and athletic stealth wasn’t his strongest suit. Severus ignited his saber and out of the corner of his eye he saw the looming figure of Lord Abaddon entering the court yard, Rifter will be have bigger issues to deal with now.

Severus moved towards Arch his left foot forward with his saber in his left hand, making quick yet powerful strokes attempting to drive Arch backwards. “Tell me Arch’elev, what does it feel like to come from a slave race? Does the suffering of your kind at the hands of the Empire anger you, or do you feel special, that you have transcended the weaknesses that the Empire sees in your species?”

Severus let his words hang in the air for a split second before pressing the attack, making a hard blow at Arch with his saber as he brought several larger stones hurling towards Arch’s legs from behind.

Arch frowned. Another Sith had engaged Rifter. Abandoning that plan, Arch redirected his power at Severus, eroding the more experienced Sith's confidence. He parried Severus' strike, dodging to the right as he did so. Then Severus pressed his attack again, Arch parried the blow off to his left, even as he stepped to the right still farther.

Through the Force, he sensed stones flying towards them, and used the Force to 'parry' those as well, lightly nudging their trajectory with the Force to aim at Severus, rather than himself.

"You tell me, Severus," Arch said, "do you feel decidedly average, coming from human stock? Do you feel yourself elevated above them because you are Sith? If so, I find it odd. I am Sith, not Twi'lek." With that, he jabbed experimentally at the Sith's torso, and was displeased. Something was . . . off.

“No, Lord Arch, I don’t feel  average,” Severus said as he paired Arch’s jab. Severus watched Arch and saw that his sluggishness was not exaggerated. Severus continued to add on to the feeling of sickness that Arch felt.

“I’m a superior human, that is superior in nature to the lesser beings of the galaxy,” Severus stated, it was a lie, well the fact that Severus thought humans were superior was a lie, but Severus did view himself above the rest.

Severus reached out with the force and attempted to throw Arch back against the far wall.

Arch's anger flared. In the back of his mind, he felt the other flood with power. In that flood, he felt it. an influence on his body by his opponent. He focused for a moment, and purged his body of its hold. That done, he started to push against Severus' mind with tendrils of doubt.

"Then you are a fool," he answered, and stabbed experimentally again, testing Severus' defenses.
