Hey all I'm Aaron been a fan of Star Wars as far back as I can remember I always fancied the double blade ever sense episode one, I also work on armor I got a havoc trooper going right now. Just got out of the Army, I'm trying to get my motorcycle license and I'm also looking to start a dueling group in the Madison, Janesville, Albany area of Wisconsin. If there isn't already one in the area.

I wanna do a double blade but the way I wanna do it so have the blades shorter like the size of the staff and then have a longer hilt.

Another thing I was thinking about still the longer hilt for a double blade and then using rare earth magnets or something to make it so I could detach them for storage and/or use in gombat. But with the first one I was thinking on using a stiff hung system to fold it in half so it's easier for storage.

Welcome, Rook! If you can come up with a way to make a studry detachable coupler, I think you'd make a lot of people here happy - it's definitely an issue as at present uncoupling takes 30 seconds or so, plus the time needed to put a pommel on at least one of the hilts... Not optimal for a quick switch during a fight  For longer hilts you might want to look at the Reapers and Arbiters, or otherwise consider the RGB option for the Aeon/Dominix, Shocks, Bane or Overlord as that adds an inch or so to each hilt. |

I've dealt with rare earth magnets in the past. Although they are insanely powerful, I fear the torque generated by a saber would too easily sever the bond, NTM I don't think boards or speakers will play very nice with that kind of magnetic force. However I could be mistaken and this is a great plan. Conduct your experiment and report your results. |
