Hey guys, I was wondering if any of the Initiate owners out there have thought to use there Initiate Staff as a 2 handed saber. Basically it is a Phantom/Phantasm staff with one of the blades removed. I came to the realization of this concept while I was doing some spinning in the house, and I smacked the ceiling, then decided to remove the blades. When I took the first blade off, I turned it over and looked at it, and thought "Hmm, this is pretty cool looking, and it could totally be used as a 2 handed saber." You could even switch out the 24 inch blade for a 32 or 36 inch blade depending on your preference.

A long Handled saber is a good idea. Get some good leverage and power behind your swings.

I like it!

Just be careful of your other saber since the other end is open.

Yeah, the open end was a concern I had too. I wonder if maybe a rubber cork or something in the end would keep it safe from debris or damage.

That would be my first try.  Grin

From Emitter to Emitter it comes in just short of 17 and a 1/2 inches

With the hilt at that length it would be really easy to maneuver, if you put a full length blade it would be like wielding a claymore, you could steer using the pommel and your other hand to guide it.

This guy uses a Long Handled saber, I don't like a whole lot of Sith aside from the Sith Lords that deserve respect but this guys is pretty badass.

You can always make yourself a plug.

Yeah, just tighten the retention screw back into the hilt.  If you definitely want a plug, 3/4" PVC pipe has an outer diameter of 1.050", so a small piece of that will make a great blade plug.

A 2 foot section of 3/4" PVC will cost you $1.15 at Home Depot, so you'll be able to make many plugs.

Speaking of plugs, when I purchased my saber it came with a rubber cap for the blade. Do they stop shipping those with?

I got a new blade recently and it did have a black cap with it. Didn't get one with the new saber tough.

Here is a rudimentary plug I made for the opened end.

I used a wooden Button Cap

Then screwed it to this piece of wooden dowel I sawed from the end of my practice bokken to make the plug

This is how it looks in the end of the saber
