I just got my first saber with Obsidian v4, and I'm looking to add another sound font to the existing 8. I watched the how-to video on formatting, but I have one question: when I change the number of soundbanks and click format memory, will that get rid of the eight already there? Or does that erase only fonts that I have uploaded?

Formatting the memory will erase evrything on the board, so make sure to back up your soundfonts. You can also download all the original soundfonts (PLUS a whole lot more) on the "soundfonts' sub-forum within "The Obsidian order" Forum section.

Formatting is mostly done when you are changing the sizes of the "slots" for the soundfonts. From what I understand though; you can have UP-TO 8 soundfonts, but no more installed at any one time. (You can have less... but once you reach 8, you will have to chose which ones to replace if you want a different font.
