I asked about adding an activation box when I placed my order last night. Haven't heard anything back yet. Either way, it will be awesome! And my first saber with all the bells and whistles!  *edit* As I was typing this, I got an email from Emory, "I just wanted to give you a heads up that we would not be able to install an activation box on your Archon v3. The groves pose an issue and it is hit or miss with drill and tapping into them. That is why we no longer are able to offer the activation on this hilt (without risk of it being crooked, etc)." A little sad.. but still looking forward to a schmexy new saber! Hi. If US can't fit an activation box, would that mean easier to authentically make a GB for Ben's saber in episode 3/4, or to make in CG for Luke in episode 6? Or affect both equally?? I'd personally opt for one in Guardian Blue and nab a Photon Green blade from one of the other saber builders. It's a neat material that glows green when exposed to blue light. So standard US blade for Obi, Photon blade for Luke, same LED either way.

Okay.. so not terribly useful info.. but an interesting factoid none the less.. the Archon v3 emitter actually unscrews into 3 parts.. I say not terribly useful, because they wont fit with any other MHS parts...

Glad to help.. it might technically be 4.. if you count the silver foil in the centerll.. which does make a noticeable difference in brightness.. Silver top emitter >> Brass neck >> silver ring + black neck/base.. (with foil running inside the length of the 3 pieces) |

I'm curious how the thin neck profile would affect "spin-ability". But then again, Luke never really "spun" his sabers in the OT anyway. Mostly two-hand grip. |
