I have been buying V4's but I just like the original sounds that the saber comes with. I don't care to change sounds. I will keep buying the V4's if the sound quality is better, I just don't want to keep wasting the 10 bucks if I won't ever use it.  Thanks in advance for any input.  Seth

Hmmm...yeah the V4 doesn't need to be on every saber build a guy dreams up.  I have both boards and to me I can't tell a difference between the two they both sound loud and crisp.  I would have no problem getting a V3 soundboard, the advantage to the V4 is the multiple fonts but if that's not your thing I think the V3 is awesome too.  You can then put that extra $10 into paying for shipping or other options for your saber.

Hi.  As much as I like the various v4 sound fonts, the mute font is the one that is of most value for me.  I routinely switch out to Obsidian default, Black Star and Ancient Saber for variety.  Agree with Hazard that if funds are an issue, to stick with the v3 or Lite versions but treat yourself to one v4.  Both sound quality and intensity are equally good.  Depending upon the saber and pommel you are using, there can be a noticeable difference in the tone and hum.  May sound lower or slightly higher.   Smiley

D7, I'll definitely second the mute font being the most valuable font. Sometimes you just want to fire your saber up at 3 a.m. and not wake the house, and sometimes sound just gets annoying especially from a wide open pommel. I can't say if it sounds better or not, but IMO on the fly sound change and mute make it worth $10. Depends on your situation though.
