Saberforum’s The Old Republic
Eight years have passed since the Treaty of Coruscant. An era of uneasy peace plagued by numerous border skirmishes exists between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire in a period that has come to be known as the Cold War, during which neither side wants to provoke full scale conflict. A powerful and charismatic Jedi Knight by the name of Jaryn Kast has become disgruntled with the Jedi Order’s hesitation to strike against the Sith. Against the orders of the Council he attacked a small Imperial outpost along with a few of his followers. When the Council questioned them he and several Jedi abandoned the Order, determined to take matters into their own hands and rid the galaxy of the Sith threat. They continue to attack Imperial outposts, growing in power and number as more flock to their cause. They have even begun gaining support from worlds who believe the Republic and Jedi won’t do what is necessary to end this war.
Afraid that the actions of this rogue Jedi will result in another Great Galactic War, the Jedi Council has decided to send a group of Jedi to stop this growing threat after having a vision that the rogues’ next attack will be on Sarka. Meanwhile, the Sith Council have decided to send a small force of their own to eliminate the rogue faction once and for all.
