Hi fellow lightsabers owners!
I am thinking of doing a few mods to my Guardian...and was wondering if anyone of you has any idea of ow to take it apart.
I would like to work on the grip area (the black parts, to be specific).
Does any of you know how to do it, or if it's even possible?
Thanks

(btw I manage to go watch Episode VII tonight and loved it...Just a few disapointing minor things)

Yup...I see someone on this forum did a paint job on the guardian (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=16216.0)
But I'm still waiting on an answer...

mmmm and that guys not been active for a while now

I did a search on youtube
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+disassemble+an+ultra+sabers+guardian
theres a load of review videos, sometimes in those people take bits off so you might be able to figure it out from those

unless someone with more knowledge about this saber than me answers the only thing I can suggest is if you carefully attempt to figure it out, I'd start with removing the pommel, emmiter and covertec wheel (if you have one). if the guardian has a shroud cover (which I believe it does) that should get it loose, but sometimes you have to remove the button to get these off

if its only the black part you want to paint, try using masking tape to cover the parts of the saber you don't want to change

The whole aluminium part is a single piece, so the emitter can't really be removed...And yes, I believe that by taking the pommel out and then all the screws/covertec I might be able to figure it out. But I was hoping for a video or an explanation from someone that already did it Wink
I thought of doing some masking, but some areas are just a lil bit tricky.
Thanks for your help! I'm planning to apply some plasti dip to the black parts (the grips essentialy) to give it a rubbery feeling and make it stand out a bit more by having different materials on it...

After getting in touch with another Guardian owner (found him on fb) he told me how to disassemble it:
First step is to take the switch out by heating the glue that holds it in place (guess it has to be done with a heat gun after taking the elctronics out), after that all you have to do is unscrew everything.
I wanted to know this just because I would like to do a custom paint job on the black anodized piece, the grips, and would need to take it out.
Hope this helps!
