It's not just something you pick up though, it's a commitment.

One does not simply just read four books...lol

Probably because it has more to do specifically with Bane instead of the pair.

Hey. I've been busy.

Probably, I've never thought about what my favourite of them is.

Yeah, but in your 34 (?) years, you still haven't. Like, this is LotR.

I guess this is true. Unless you really enjoy them. Undecided

Four? You're including The Hobbit?

Made me smile.

Gonna be honest, no matter how many times I tell myself I'm going to watch or read Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Matrix, Tron, or Back to the Future, I still haven't and don't know where to start. I had enough trouble rewatching the Star Wars Movies, I kept falling asleep. I'm really not a movie person.

Yes, since Fellowship starts with Bilbo, I read that first, and included it as part of the series.

That said; Darth Logos, if you ever read the series, I recommend starting with The Hobbit.  It gives a ton of backstory IMO.  Like a prequel.

I fell asleep three times before I could watch Fellowship.  Just that one though. IDK.

I found that reading the Hobbit wasn't necessary, however it really laid the foundation for the whole LOTR series.  Without the Hobbit there wouldn't have been a LOTR series.  If you really want to read the real foundation you would have to go back and read the Silmarillion...its a major part of the Middle Earth history.

I love watching those films.

My wife and I actually just watched "Battle of the Five Armies" last night and boy was it a fun time; what an awesome battle.

We have never seen the theatrical version, so all those extra battle sequences were phenomenal. Especially all of the stuff with Billy Connolly as Dain.

Ironically, My wife loves the movies and she and I have spent weekends on Hobbit and LOTR marathons.  Too much popcorn and rooter floats leads to great movie marathons.

Right. Is your "character" supposed to be Force sensitive?

Yeah, it happens before, but it's not LotR.

Logos, I agree that you should read The Hobbit first. It's an easier read, probably more enjoyable too. Undecided

I don't know how you could do that. I've only seen the extended version, which has each movie divided into two parts. So I always want to watch the next half. I can't begin to imagine falling asleep though. Maybe if it was the first half of Fellowship and I was tired, but that's a big maybe.

Agreed that Hobbit isn't LoTR, but as I got about halfway through the first chapter of Fellowship, I wanted to know who this Bilbo dude was, and what freaking adventure?

The falling asleep was exactly that I think.  First half of Fellowship at night. Smiley

I suppose that I am, though quite raw and untrained.

But, really, I'm just a bad mamajama.

Yeah, I was the opposite. I had to read all 4 books before I could watch LotR, wasn't happy about that. So I read The Hobbit last, trying to put off what I thought would be no fun and a boring book. Then I read it and liked it better. Roll Eyes

Not much action, but still good. If it was any other part, I'd have a hard time believing you. I suppose I can see that though.

Oh, your text under your avatar pic implies you're a bounty hunter of some sort. Which I suppose doesn't mean you're not Force sensitive.
