I have a non illuminated silver av switch and I feel like I have to really press down on it to turn it on or off are they supposed to be like that? Am I just doing it wrong is there a trick for turning it on switching to foc and turning it off?

Hard to say with a tactile thing like a switch.  My experience with different types of momentary switches makes me think that if you're pushing it hard to make it work there might be a small issue with its shape making it stick, or there may be a problem where its not making proper contact.  If it persists I would contact US about it, they may be willing to replace it with a new switch that works properly.

If it is sticky, it might.  I'd be very cautious however and use a very small amount of lubricant.  I really don't know what oil might do to the electronics.

I put a drop of Hoppe's #9 and it worked great it works perfect now
