Ok while no release date yet the guild alignment system went to phase 2 today. according to bioware this would not happen until the game was on its way out. This in my mind is the first of the storm that will end with the game being in my hands.

Guilds can now set up the rivalries and alliances with other guilds. also guild members can invite people to the guild through email. The big thing though is the alliance/rivalry thing.

its on the main page under guild alignment begins

If you are into MMO's,  bored of WoW and patiently waiting for ToR, might I suggest Rift in the interim, not a bad little game really.  Many advancements on WoW.  I think it is destined to be confined to its 15 minutes of fame though once some of the gigantic titles hit this year, like ToR and Diablo 2 and DOTA 2.
