Lev,
Congratulations! What a saber to win.
I'll try to help you, as I am venturing into a bit of an unknown, as well, because I have never setup a Flamberge, nor have I setup an unstable blade.
First, let's start with the Flamberge. I didn't think the crossguard blades could change color. From everything I've read, the main blade should change, but the guard blades do not, so are the side blades reflecting the flicker of the main blade? A good way to test this would be to get into the launcher, set your color to 100% blue and click "test." That will show you the color but not write it to your board. If your crossguards don't change, then you know the flicker is in your main blade. You could also take the blades out and just shine the light on your palm and see if it flickers.
Now for the colors. If you go here, you'll see my color list. The two shades of BR I use are a red and a dark red. It creates a nice effect. It also shows you how to setup a flicker effect.
http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=26443.0For the unstable blade, that is something that will be a bit more difficult, because I have not been able to get the colors to flash at different intervals. For example, I haven't been able to get red to be on for .04 seconds, then dark red for .02 then back to red for 0.6 s, then dark red for .04. I think that would be the best way to achieve an unstable blade, because your two colors would be flickering for different times. If you can do that, all you need to do is slide the slider lines I have in the picture below.
About the closest thing I've found was achieved like this:
1. Connect your saber to the launcher the normal way and click on load defaults.
2. Change the total time to 0.10 s.
3. Click on the fourth color bar and change that to 100% red.
4. Click on the second color bar and change it to 100% red and 50% green.
5. Write to board and click disconnect.
That should give you a good, fiery flicker that will look pretty wicked. You can then use the slider bars and the total time box to adjust your timing and you can adjust your colors to your liking, too.
