I admit it. Maul was REALLY cool in TPM but bringing him back really messes with my suspension of disbelief. :/

Well...canon wise he has been back. A live action netfilz series could be possible...Get ray to do the physical and Sam Witwer to do the voice. |

Yeah, that's one of my beefs with current canon, and TCW as a whole. I don't understand why they brought him back. I wanted him to stay dead, and still wish he had. |

I admittedly fanboy'd out when Maul first came back (especially when they gave him his EU Visionaries legs), but now the more they use him the more nerfed he feels. I think TCW has been great at giving more material to characters that we saw less in the movies and in some cases making them more badass eg Dooku |

Maul is getting older and likely not been able to keep up with the level of training he had before he was bisected by Kenobi. Add to this is metal legs and during the Clone Wars, only half his lightsaber, he was less powerful by default. In Rebels? Well again he is older, perhaps weakened a little like Kenobi in A New Hope. He seems good enough verse Inquisitors. Otherwise he has he old weakness, overconfidence, but we'll see what they do with him later.
But against Palpatine? Maul's got nothing the Sith Master. I doubt Maul could defeat Vader these days. Vader is too into power attacks for Maul's style. Even if Maul can get the upper hand...Vader is still the Chosen One...and hates himself, so to speak.
(Isn't the Jedi's lightsaber in Emerald Green?)

Maul knows he can't beat the Emperor or Vader on his own..he said exactly that in this episode. He may not be the threat he was in TPM and Clone Wars but something is coming and he is going to be in the forefront of it is my guess. |

I have this graphic novel as well. Though I think the EU death of Maul at the hands of Kenobi (Lars, technically) would be more fitting to turn into canon. |
