Here's a rather dusty, old thread...

With the cooler weather upon me, I can finally don my Sith attire in full, without dying.

Also, though, it means that I'll be indoors more often.  Time to start modelling in earnest.

I've decided to begin with this:

It's far less detailed than the AT-ST will be, and will provide good practice for my stupid right hand - the manual dexterity deficient one.

That said, it may take me considerably longer to do this...

This is a welcome surprise.  Smiley

I agree, it's around that time to pull out the paints and start back up again.

Not meaning to pry, but what's the progress on your AT-ST?

Well sir, TBT, aside from opening the box and seeing the monumental task at hand, not a thing has been done to it yet...lol

I'm a couple of paint colours short for it actually.

I thought that I'd start with the fighter jet, so my mistakes can be made on it.

Bandai produce some great kits, I've been hooked on building their Gundams for a few years now, so when they recently started doing Star Wars stuff, I started picking up the ones I particularly liked. So far I've only completed the 1/12 scale Stormtrooper, but I've begun painting their tiny Star Destroyer kit. I'll post some pics of that once it's finished  Wink

This Stormtrooper is unpainted though, as it really didn't need any.

Very cool Vital-Blurs!

Looking forward to seeing that SD.  Shocked

Agreed on the not painting the trooper.  It appears to even have some grey on the helmet!

If we're being truthful, we too, have stopped our painting; we still have quite a few pieces left.  Cheesy

MJ and I did the same thing on a few loose mini's that we had before starting on the game pieces. You got to get that muscle memory into your fingers bore the complicated stuff.

Arrow's built.

It wasn't very tough at all.  I just need to clean-up the paint a bit:

I even managed to add a bit of detail to the pilots:

Then it gets the markings.  That'll be fun. O_o

Hi Lord Rapine, if the decals for your model are the Waterslide type you soak then put in place, you could try using a small drop of dish washing detergent in the water. This helps you slide the decals into place. They will take slightly longer to dry in place but it allows you  to precisely place them.

Also on a side note, have you seen the Dan Aykroyd movie "The Arrow"? I thought it was fascinating.

point for the paintjob so far very recognisable!

Thanks For Tyeth, but I have done water decals before - many times.  Smiley

There's just lots of them, they're very small, and my manual dexterity is horrible...lol

Of course, I have to do the Ontario one.  RL203 - extra crap. O_o

I'll get there...

I have indeed seen that movie. Grin  Pretty Good.

I haven't painted miniatures in a long time, but this thing here looks interesting:

If I had more time, I'd be tempted to finish some of my WH40K-stuff Wink

That does look pretty cool Greywolf.

I ought to stick to painting, because I'm HORRID at decals.  Ruined two already - I'll have to maybe order another set - or just say "SCREW IT!".  (stupid hand...  Undecided)

I don't think the AT-ST has many at all.

Edit: It has a few cog logos.  That I can handle.  The jet has flags, and numbers to make, and pin stripping...UGH!

A pic of my decal work so far...

I know it may seem like I'm kind of rushing through this, but there really wasn't much to it, and I do have hours per day...

I think I may forgo the pain of trying to add the pin stripping. Tongue

Note: The Ontario flag on the tail was a decal on top of a decal.  Nice. O_o
