V3's are slimmer and can have either sound or the Emerald driver, but not both.
V4's are wider and can have both.

As it's the Obsidian order, he could be asking for the Obsidian v3 or v4 sound boards...
If so, the diference is that the v3 has only one default sound font installed but you can plug the sound card on the computer and modify it or even down load another sound font and change the default one. With the v4 you have 7 diferent sound fonts + a silent/mute mode installed default on the sound board ( the Obsidian default sound font from the v3 included), and you can still plug it in the computer and modify them and download more fonts to install them... So with the v4 you have multiple sound fonts... I guess somebody can give you more a better information...

The V4 allows the changing of soundfonts at the touch of a button, access to a better launcher, and better sensitivity.

V3 is great but for an extra 10 dollars get the V4 allows you to do so much more
