What's the difference between the Blade types? What's the best blade type?

Personally I always go mid grade because I never battle heavily and I like my blades brighter. I did go heavy grade for a mystery box so I could wack things with it. When it comes to blade for different colours my opinion is:

Blazing Red - always regular
Fire orange - I prefer regular over ultraedge
Consular green - I prefer ultraedge
Guardian blue - either looks good but I like ultraedge
Arctic blue - ultraedge looks better
Adegan silver - always ultraedge
Violet amethyst - I slightly prefer regular over ultraedge
Blue violet amethyst - I prefer regular
Sun riders destiny - ultraedge looks better
Banes heart - regular blade
Hot pink - regular blade
Pyrestone orange - either look good but I slightly prefer regular blade
Sentinel yellow - always ultraedge

These may not be what others like but they are my personal opinion. Hope it helps.

Ultraedge gives the blade color a fuller look from the center to the edges, but which is better is a matter of personal taste; I like the regular for its "steel bar" look when the saber is turned off.

As for midgrade vs heavy, my dueling is pretty much just my kids and I messing around in the yard, and midgrade is more than good enough as far as durability goes.

It's a midgrade blade. So, it would work for light contact dueling, but not heavy contact dueling.
