I'm curious.

1. Would anyone be interested in a soundfont based on TR-8R's electrostaff? I know I would!  Cheesy Cheesy

2. Has anyone else made one? I'd hate to steal someone else's idea, but as I haven't found one yet, I'll be making one if there's interest.

Here it is! As I couldn't find a soundfont that sounded like TR-8R's electrostaff, I decided to make one of my own. This is the BETA version of TR-8R's Electrostaff as seen in the fight scene (refer to video below) between him and Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

This soundfont includes:
  • 4 Power-on sounds (w/ 1 power-off sound)
  • 11 Impacts/Clashes
  • 2 Lockups
  • 8 Motions
  • 1 Boot
  • 1 Default Configuration

Again, I am an amateur at making soundfonts, and the source footage (again, refer to video below) isn't exactly ideal, so please be a little forgiving if this isn't up to par. Like I said, it's unfinished, and it needs a lot of work. I spent a lot of time removing vocals, background noise, blaster fire, etc. I've tested it on my saber, and I've tried to eliminate all motion-to-sound lag, so it should work just fine there. It sounds cool(-ish), and if you mix and match the right sounds, it will sound fairly decent.

ok THIS is awesome....I'm also glad you included a config file (i dont know why no one really does that...helps so much to have something to start with and then edit as the user sees fit)

though i think the idle could be a few seconds longer (and properly looped ofc)

I'm surprised I didn't see this come up when you posted about it. I actually started working on an extremely clean rip of the TR-8R riot weapon to make for a font. I got all I needed but haven't assembled it. Now that the new movie is out, there's definitely more reason to have melee type fonts out there. I'll configure mine, but it'll be on saberfont.com

I'll post a demo when it's done.

It's been a long time since I've been on the saberforum. I came back here for this thread, to let any interested persons know that I've just completed an extremely accurate and high-quality "TR-8R" or "Z-6 Riot Baton" font. This font is for Plec...another brand of soundboards...but being as such, it can be used on Obsidian boards.
