Does anyone know how long the 4AAA battery last in the standard setup just wondering if I should get the obsidian lite or save a little more money and get the V4 so many options to think about just want to make the right ones

Haven't measured it exactly but the OB Lite with 4xAAA setup lasts considerably less than the same 4xAAA in a stunt saber.
Obviously, as it powers the sound effects (and in my case the AV switch too).

But actually I'm fine with it, it still lasts long enough not to feel underpowered.
Of course I have a few sets of rechargeable NiMH AAAs ready to pop in any time Smiley And a good thing: there's a lovely, gentle flickering on the blade with my OB Lite setup just to make it more movie-accurate.
Once those flickers get (s)lower in frequency I know the time to replace the batteries is near Smiley

Obsidian Lite has blade flicker now? Hmm. No one ever points that out

Does it flicker with just the regular AAA batteries or do you need the rechargeable batteries (lower voltage) to notice the flicker?

I've not seen a Obsidian LITE saber in person yet, but have one on backorder.

I have no other saber to compare it to and I don't know how to describe it better than use the word "flicker". Smiley
Let me use all my English to be as precise as possible of what I experience: there's a tiny "resonance" in the blade when it's turned on. It only can be seen if I pay attention to it or can be recognized in a completely dark room. It looks cool for me but that's personal preference.
When the batteries (4xAAA, that's the only setup the Lite supports) are closer to be flat this resonance becomes more recognizable: the frequency gets slower so the cycle of a single flick becomes slightly longer.
I don't see this with my stunt sabers so I guess this is a feature or side effect of the Lite board.

My guess would be that since there are multiple energy consumers in a saber with sound (the LEDs, the switch if it's lit and the speaker) that's how the power is distributed between the parts.
Since the stunts have only the LED, the power output towards it can be smooth and steady.

Again, it's really a tiny thing so don't get excited about it nor consider it as a pro or cono for a purchase Smiley
Hope this helps!

The board's flicker is inconsistent. My setups flicker on low batteries, some setups flicker indefinitely.
