I'm kind of getting a bad vibe from this thread.

There seems to be a certain sense of entitlement from some members.

UltraSabers does these raffles for us.  They've given away over 300 lightsabers in 3 months.  That's just awesome.

If you were lucky enough to win one, great.  If not, you still get a spectacular, battle-ready saber.

If you entered the raffle solely so you'd win a prize, you're misguided IMO.

And all members start at zero posts.

I saw Zap's post, and he was ecstatic.

And on another note I don't know how you could see zaps post when he has zero posts and would have at least two

I was sure I did see a post from that member.  It was one of the higher end winners at least.

I wasn't trying to single anyone out, or create bad feelings, just wanted to keep a happy mood here is all.

I wish everyone could get a free saber - and I get the feeling that perhaps Emory does too  - but it's just not doable...lol

What I am certain of, is that US holds many of these raffles and giveaways, so it's totally worth it to keep at it.

I'm not trying to spark outrage as it doesn't state you need to post to win, but it's more interesting to see that we will never know what they get because they only joined to try and win but don't want to use the forum it appears. And I like to know who beat me out for the prizes lol

I get that, and I used to get pretty annoyed about that myself.

We could potentially never see the Emerald or Grand prize sabers - that still burns a little, but, as you stated, the rules are clear: Join the forum; enter the raffle.  At no point does it say that the member needs to be active.

I just enjoy being with the members who are active then, and see their awesome sabers.

If the people who won the prizes want to join in, great!  If not, c'est la vie. O_o

I wasn't even entered this time, but I like reading the reactions from folks.  I could have sworn I saw one from Zap, but numbers don't lie I guess.

Also, I haven't been here that long at all actually, but pretty much live on here...lol  "A posting machine" it's been said.

Firstly I would like to thank Emory for doing these raffles.

I was lucky enough to be a first prize winner which I was not expecting since the last time I won anything was probably a rigged 'lucky dip' at the primary school summer fete back when Pontius was still a Pilate.

I will be sure to post up a photo for the forum when it arrives.

Guys, the prizes this time have almost all gone to members without a lot of posts - looking through the list, I got to Lord Canterbuty (congrats on that, by the way!) before I recognised much of anyone.

It happens. Everyone entering has the exact same chance as anyone else, which is exactly how it should be. The first raffle I entered, I won the grand prize. I had a relative handful of posts, but I so enjoyed the forum that I stuck around... for more than 3 years now!

The first spring raffle almost seemed like a forum greatest hits compilation, in comparison - lots of folks who've been here for a long time and/or posted lots (and also lots who're less active!).

Over a hundred people are getting fantastic free lightsabres. That's something to be celebrated. If you entered and didn't win anything, you're still getting a fantastic lightsabre, which is worth celebrating too

I'm not a frequent poster nor a long time member (this was a re-do of my first ever purchase with US), but rest assured, I'll be back with photos of my first prize as soon as my prize arrives with my backordered shock.

There are other types of promotions.  Between raffles there was a limited offer for a free Initiate stunt saber for an amount similar to the raffle entry amount.

I've entered in three raffles, and come out with only what I entered with.  No prizes for me at present.  But I have a plan for at least two more raffles.  If my luck is consistent, I will still not win anything, but I will be able to justify the chance of winning as the reasoning for spending the money on gifts.  Because win or lose, I still have gifts for people.
