OK . I'll be the one to say it. Both Jets down. Pilots saved by very neat ejection tech > But Both Jets Down. (fate of evil Russian launcher of SAM's. Who knows? I havent seen this particular piece of theater before.)  Tongue

-1 for LR Though coz I did watch it to the end & thoroughly enjoyed it.    Cheesy

Thanks man. Smiley

That's from "Behind Enemy Lines", and is my all time favourite F18 sequence - EVER!

So intense.  Awesome on a large TV with surround sound. Wink

Yeah, but I just don't buy Owen Wilson as a naval pilot...

Thinking back it makes me wonder if they were deliberately buzzing trainees & gliders at the very nearby RAF Syerston - Royal Air Force 2 Flying Training School and Central Gliding School. ( you weren't that far off For Tyeth. Nottinghamshire, but still close to a lot of bases & former bases in Lincolnshire.)

&  point to FT for conforming as true, what sounded like the usual nonsence that I spout from time to time. Grin

I still love planes Smiley

Apologies Darth Acervus, I have just seen your reply ^ from the 13th. I wasn't sure which counties to mention as the aircraft we mention here can overfly a county in a matter of minutes sometimes. I am due east of RAF Finningley in North Lincolnshire and can see the RAF Merlin helicopters regularly transiting north and south over us.

DS point incoming for your knowledge!

Maybe not, but he's very cynical.  I still like him for that. Smiley

Still a great plane scene though Jev. Ya gotta admit that - He's got a mask on for Pete's sake...lol

That may or may not be what is currently thought to be a F-19, depending on whether it exists (or ever existed) or not.

The history of the F-19 is amusing.  The articles are best read in the order I listed them.  I actually had the original Testors model, which is one of the reasons this plane has stuck with me. I did find it interesting that it was given the Specter name, as this is also used for the AC-130 Spectre (and why later variants/upgrades were given different names).

In my opinion, this is probably, though not definitively, the aircraft that gave rise to the Aurora Project stories.

That plane look remarkably like one of the "Shadows" vessels from Babylon 5 (they always gave me the creeps).
I will read your links with interest.

I know this plane doesn't really exist, but I love the F/A-37 Talon  The F/A-37 Talon is a near-future, single-seat fighter aircraft of the U.S. Navy in the 2005 film Stealth. In the film's fictional world, the only Talons are operating as a three-plane flight for field evaluation, from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (although actually filmed on the USS Carl Vinson[5]).

For real aircraft, I love the YF-23. Just something about it stylistically that I love. But it was outperformed by the F-22.
