I got this as part of a grab bag, and once again want to point out that it really pays to shell out extra for metal. I personally dont like the recessed retention screw, but I can see how others would dig it. The purple color is a little more violet than I prefer, (I'd rather see a SLIGHTLY deeper purple) but it's MUCH better than the color on the Force FX Mace Windu, which is, I think, a blue LED strand with a pink filter. The grip is great though the balance is slightly forward. I spray painted mine all silver in preperation for eventually customizing it into a Mace Windu type hilt, but I havent gotten into that just yet. All in all this is a very sturdy lightsaber and I can see why its so well regarded amongst duelists.

I would like to see a little more weight, maybe even a thicker plating over the battery pack area though, as this would add a little more interesting appearance and also help to cancel the forward overbalance. Pics coming up as soon as I get my film developed.

Here's my Mace Windu customized dominix. The black on the hilt is faux leather that I folded to make it thicker, and I fabricated the gold buttons myself.

Nice Windu homage there. I will order a VA saber as soon as my bank account allows me to. I might even buy 2 to customize 1 for my girlfriend. Her favorite color is purple so i might even score twice: giving her something she will like and introduce her to the Star Wars universe
