My first sabers had ultraedge and the blades were white. I just got some grab bag blades that were UE, and they're gray with a little bit of a visible core when turned on.

Is this something that just happens with age of grab bags? Is it the temperature during shipping? Are my original UEs gonna turn gray?

Post a picture.  My heavy UE was kinda grayish is why I asked.  I'd show you but I broke it and junked it, haven't picked up a new one yet.

Well, it does say on the order page that grab bag blades may contain imperfections.  Maybe it was from a bad run, hence being a grab bag.  All of my UEHG blades are white, by the way.

They got back to me and said they had a run of UEs that are gray, and that's the risk we take with grab bag blades.

A dimmer version of UE. It's just impurities in the polycarbonate. These will be my beat up harsh dueling blades. At least they were 36 inch, instead of 32 like my clear grab bags in the past.

I've now got two 36" heavygrade UEs that are white to use for display only, two UE 24" midgrades that are white and good for a Maul type saber of manageable length, 4 clear 32" heavygrade blades that I've modded to make day blades, and five 36" gray heavygrade UEs. More than I need, but I like to mess with things

I suppose I'll risk a gray blade to mod with a color coating for a different kind of day blade. Not a big loss, if I mess it up.

which is why they are 50% off.  They are unloading the gray ones first. I too would like to see these lit up

Dang, I'm curious too.  Kinda makes me wish I'd bought some.  Next time they spontaneously have 50% off grab bag blades, I'm grabbing some because I'll assume they had a bad run.  Wink
